Got a RF87UB55 today (Bro not included  :p). I think I like Topre but it's not nearly as tactile as I expected it to be. It feels kind of mushy. One thing I seriously love is the thock noises it makes. I'm just not sold on cup rubber. If I could find something with the tactile feeling of MX Clears and the thock sound of Topre that would be pretty amazing.

Final stop HHKB...

After getting my first HHKB, I won't consider anything that isn't some form of an HHKB layout anymore...

Even the Minila Air I have coming in the mail is a dirty mix between the HHKB Pro and JP layouts.

I've been thinking about getting one of those. What headphones do you use it with and how is it compared to an onboard DAC?

Picture quality not so great due to bad lighting and cheap camera, the green is really minty green, it is nice to see.

I'll take a better picture later with the LEDs but I was really excited to get this board in. Drhubblephd built my Leeku 1800.

- Leeku 1800 PCB
- 1800 plate from The_Beast
- New in package G81-7000HQUAS (I think) Cherry Doubleshot ABS caps
- GMK Purple/CMYK caps
- Stock Clears
- Magenta LEDs in the function row, cyan LEDs in the numpad, torquoise LEDs in the alphas
- Dolch PAC G80-1813HFX case
- TheFlyingRaccoon cable

AND since it's my new work keyboard, I got a co worker to say that they liked it :D.

PS - Here's the pictures drhubblephd sent me with test shots of the LEDs.

I thought someone would be interested in Varmilo caps, hence the photo. They're decently thick, they feel nice and look nice. I am glad I chose the Varmilo caps on it and even gladder that there's no branding on the spacebar.

Yup, unfortunately there's not much of a difference but it's still really cool. I love how the board looks. I've currently got it setup in a lighting mode where the more WPM I've got while typing, the more the lights glow. It's a really cool effect. :D

I'll take some proper pictures soon.

I do like those keycaps :)
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada
