Excellent job with the dying!  It looks very consistent across the board :)
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Hello to all Poker owners. I have a question and I hope some of you might help me out a bit. I was looking to get my hands on a grey case Poker II but unfortunately I wasnt able to buy one. Anyways, now I found a seller who has a White Poker II that I could buy, but the thing is that I really dont like white and I was thinking to actually buy a new aluminium case with dark keycaps set and actually mod the white poker so it looks like a black one but Im afraid the white plate around switches might be visible inbetween and around the keycaps and I wouldnt want that. So my question is would the white plate be visible to that extent that its noticable when lookijg at the poker from top and side? Hope someone can reply

If this is a low profile ALU case I'd say yes but let's see what others think.

that was when i'd just installed the keycaps and LED changers so that key wasn't fully pushed down
it's a shame the LED changers don't fit with the vortex PBT+POM keycaps as i'm not aware of any other good backlit compatible keycaps

Ah that sucks. Looks like a great board but that one key makes my insides twist  :p  Maybe you can sand down the changers a bit?

From the photos I've seen, white plate are very visible.

I took the plunge and ordered a white poker II from Netherland based vendor. I decided to mod it a bit with dark case and some darkish keycaps. The problem with white plate being visible under dark keycaps I plan to solve by painting the plate with a metal paint with a very thin brush. If anyone thinks that painting the plate this way is a bad idea let me know guys before I spoil my first poker. :)

that probably isn't a good idea because if any of it gets on the switches the solvent might mess up the casing or ruin the switch if it somehow gets in from between the housing and the stem :v
i would remove the plate and dismount the switches and then spray paint/paint it

It came from here. The seller has offered me to send me 2 caps and one red switch, I whish I had ordered it without backlighting. It would be so easy to replace the broken stem ...
I don't know how to solder/desolder the LED, but I don't see any other options.

The link doesn't seem to work, but man that sucks. At least it's the right ctrl, which isn't super used, so you can use it till you can get it fixed. You can ask someone like dorkvader to fix it for you (I only reccomend him since we are buddies IRL and he has done work for me before) but I would wait a bit and see if there are any other things you would like him to do.

I'd guess the corner of the box was also squashed?  Or at least shows signs of having been squashed during transit.

No mention of replacing it?  Kinda awkward to have to resolder a switch on a new keyboard you just bought!

It came that way. When I was unboxing it I noticed the right CTRL and PN caps were looking funny. However the caps were not just - as I initially thought - loose, they were broken. The PN key I was able to fix easily by replacing it with one of the colored caps that came with the board. The right CTRL switch is broken, which means I'll have to replace it.
I have contacted the seller and he offered me to send the caps and the switch. For returning the keyboard I'd have to pay the shipping from Germany to China (and the other way around were I to order another one) - so I'll try to fix the board myself. It is indeed a good moment to gain some basic soldering skills.

unfortunately i don't like the MX clears in my poker 2, but it looks nice as heck IMO

What key set is that?

Yeah, and what case? It looks really stunning! What a shame that you dislike the switches. Are you going to change them?

That should have to be a heavy hit to brake the caps and stem.

In that case I wish you very good luck in fixing it!

If you're not familiar with soldering maybe find an old PCB from something (discarded DVDplayer, TV etc.) and practice desoldering and soldering on it.

I think the case is ikbc/vortex aluminum poker case.

When you said pexon case, this came up to my mind first. Pexon had a GB for this case.

Anyway it's not easy to differentiate which is which, not like the Hammer, MKC, and FMJ cases.   ;)
