Got my prototype in yesterday, a few changes needs to be made before production. :(

Case will be done in black and plate in red or blue. Brass plate will be an option once I get that cost.

Blue plate would look hawt.

What problem(s) were there? Hopefully your proto is still usable, otherwise that's an expensive mistake.

Is it possible to get the case in ANY other color.  I got my LZGH in black and would love at least one other color option so I could have at least a little variance.  Please concider at least one other color option for the case!

Are there going to be different plate options? I was going to go with a WFD125 setup.

Base might not be saved but I'm not paying full proto price again.

FWIW: I've already got $800ish in this case -_-

That sounds about right for prototyping cost. That really sucks though. This case is the first metal TKL on GH, still looking forward to the finished product or GB phase.

Boost,

Any word on getting the case in a different color?  I may sell my phantoms if I can't get another color other than black.  No pressure either way, I won't be upset, just wanting info so I can make my decision.

Thanks.

These are being hard anodized so it would be very hard to remove.

Might offer 2 colors but nor sure yet, trying to keep cost down

Why not just ask for it to be anodized at all and then find a place to do it yourself?

How much does it cost to hard anodize yourself?

IMHO orange is more for accents.  Making the entire case orange is a whole lot of orange for most people.  Then again, like I said, I'd be in for just about any color that isn't black.

Things like the cost of electricity that night can also factor into the cost. It's very hard to give a generic random quote. This isn't like buying a pencil at the store. There's a lot involved with machining.

I 100% agree with this statement. Couldn't have said it better.

It's an additional "service" to add to the cost, therefore bringing in more profit. That's the only business model / reasoning I could think of.

Edit;
Please don't look at this post the wrong way - I see profit as a gain and gains are good. I ain't mad at people for wanting material things, and you shouldn't be either.

Even a "colorless" aluminum case would still have to be anodized, or it would stain easily, no?

Yes, but I want an anodized case that has no dyes in it so there's no color. Just glorious machined metal to cuddle with at night. :D

But regardless, boost's got some mad fingerpainting skillz so color should be np

I just did a bit of research and I guess you're correct... The biggest motive being that anodizing renders it non-conductive.

You can do a "clear" anodize, which should make it look like machined aluminum (since no color dye is added)

Get it anodized like DIY? Ya, prolly cheaper.

Get it anodized somewhere else? No, probably the same at best. Unless you get a special discount or something.

The final prototype was done but had to do another change(visual). Will be here late this week or early next week. The case no fits the phantom PCB correctly(WOOT). Just need to verify a few things and GB/Pre-Orders will be begin via TeckKeys.
