Is there enough clearance for a foam sheet under the Filco pcb, and do I have to desolder everything if I wanted to lube, respring and sticker the switches(of the Filco)?

1. No idea.
2. Yes.

Stock-on Keycaps: ABS (OEM profile)

Does it mean lettering could be an issue with wearing off?
Not particular true, in my case, i got Poker X and Pure, and on both, some letters wore off quite quickly

Those stock keycaps are pad-printed and may-or-may-not have as issue with the legends wearing depending on a number of factors.
Lettering from my Poker X keycaps wore off after couple days
I have hands that get quite often greasy and sweaty
is there any level of ABS except for lettering etching mode?

In your case, I would look for double shot caps. The legends are a separate shot of plastic in the mold, so you'll have to wear the caps down to nothing before the legend disappears.

Thanks but i would stay on ABS which i love feeling lol.
ABS shinning issue doesnt bother me as long as lettering doesnt wear.
By the way, i dont have enough budget to get double shot caps.

Lasered ABS is probably the way to go then. It won't wear for quite a while and is cheap.

Double shot ABS can be found for pretty cheap through Taihao group buys. You can post on classifieds for them or join the ongoing Taihao dolch group buy if you're willing to wait.

You can try looking for Tai Hao ABS doubleshots. I think Keypop still has some but they pop up in the Classifieds. They're usually around $10-20 for the set.  Fits your budget and your needs.

Hi guys. This black thing on the pcb came off through an unfortunate series of events.  :( What is it and how can I go about replacing it? I'm guessing its a resistor or diode of some sort? Thanks for any help  :)

It was a diode. It looks like you maybe able to solder another one on if you're careful but someone else might have better insight than I do. I'm not that knowledgeable about SMD components.

Now for a few rules:
  • This is not a sale/trade thread. Please use the Classifieds or PMs to handle that kind of business.
  • Please try and ask yes/no questions or questions that can be answered in a single post or two
  • Please don't ask about prices, we have a thread for that already.
  • Please try and quote the question you're answering. This thread is now big enough that multiple questions and answers are being asked at once and it can get confusing.
  • Please try to limit the discussions here, we have countless other threads and places to discuss. I'd like to keep this thread true to its title. Sorry if I stifle the discussion from time to time
  • Please don't bump your question. I know I'm usually fast with answers (or someone else is fast), but if you don't get an answer in an hour, just be patient. I might actually be doing researching/digging and you might not even know. I think the longest someone waited for an answer is 3-4 days. Just wait or PM me.
  • Please don't post memes or gifs in this thread
  • Please keep this keyboard (keyboards, keycaps, springs, mods, soldering, etc) related.
  • Please don’t bicker in this thread. I will have it cleaned up if I feel it’s needed.

Pacifist, what about the MX11800 spacebar that we discussed previously? It's a great match with BSP/OG.
Please consider carefully before you decide to comment, for Jesus.

Well, Pacifist is right that the color is not an exact match, but it's pretty close. Here are a couple pics of an MX11800 spacebar on top of Cherry dyesubs. First pic no flash, second pic has flash. Under most normal lighting conditions, I think most people wouldn't notice the mismatch unless you called attention to it. The color difference is more exaggerated in pics than in real life, I'd say. That said, if you can get German dyesubs for only a little more money, you might want to do that.

If you put the 11800 bar on a dyesub set with RGB, its not as noticeable, but pure black on white is quite visible imo

A Korean PCB in a plastic stock case? You should rather invest in the case instead in the PCB imho.

A big part of why GON's keyboards are so attractive is because of the cool lighting effects underneath the keyboard, which would be completed eliminated by a Poker case. Additionally, what is the point in spending a premium price on a keyboard if it basically has the same aesthetics and functionality as the $100 Poker?

I would even say that the case is the most important part of a custom keyboard.

Yup, if you're going to be picking between that GON PCB in a plastic case and a Poker 2, might as well just get a Poker 2 and save yourself the hassle. For me, the point of having a custom is having a nice PCB *AND* a nice case. Otherwise I can just stick with Filcos and Duckys and the like.

Tenso's site says 2-4 days after Tenso gets the package. Seems pretty fast. I've never used them before so I have no personal experience with it.

it's pretty quick for what it is, too

What's your experience for "pretty quick"? 4 Days? Lightspeed?

How far do we need to clip the stems on pcb switches to be able to use on plate without any issues?

So they sit right? Just try it out. It doesn't need to be an exact measurement...

I don't have any non PCB mounted boards to test it out. When I clip them, there's probally 2 mm sticking out, and if I focus the stump, it goes to .75mm

Clip it so it's flush with the bottom of the switch?

The grips on my HASRO are absolutely gone. Anyone know of any good replacement grips for keyboards? small enough to not make the keyboard slanted or anything..just to add a little grip underneath
