What buckling springs keyboards were being manufactured in 1982. I would love to get a keyboard from my birthyear.
Model M technoogy came out in winter of 1984 with the wheelwriters, so it would be model F for sure.
1982 would be a PC or maybe XT, which can be hard to date accurately.
Other options are the bigfoot and 3178 "model C" keyboards (I think)
I can check for you when I get home.
My fault for not fully explaining my thought process. I mainly meant like when someone harvests 55g domes for an HHKB, their original 55G board will still have some 55 due to the HHKB obviously having fewer keys. So even if you trade all the same keys the HHKB has, there will be a couple modifiers on the bottom row that are 55 while the rest are 45, and the F row and whatever else will still be 55. Would people actually buy the resulting board?
as may be obvious, i've been thinking about swapping 55g domes into my HHKB but don't want to do it if I won't really be able to sell the resulting frankenboard for much
There's loads of keyboards like that on the classifides: they sell, usually at a discount. I might be interested in one in a few months.
traditionally I think you put the inconsistent dome on the tenkey (if there is one) and function row, followed by modifiers if necessary.
