I've only tried twice now, but each time I only listed 3 things. I'm not sure if that was a rule or not, but it seems to be the norm.

I didn't get in this time too though. O well :)

Waiting for the sale of MY keyboard skulls

I know. It'll probably take years to perfect them enough for them to grace the faces of G81s around the world. I await them with bated breath.

If I had a MY CC I would totally rock it on my typewriter.  Heck, I'd even bring it to KeyCon so I could share its vintage MY switch goodness with the rest of the keyboard world.  Typewriter be so ballin', the only MX switch in the thing is for the carriage return - that's right, MY switches are way too good to be used for something so mundane; they are instead reserved for pure typing nirvana.

I do not see anything wrong with this. I mean, since the items in the sale are usually all of the same "theme", it makes sense to go "well, if I cant get the translucent red one, I will go for the translucent blue one". Though personally I do not order items I can not use.

Honestly, I liked everything that was being offered, so I listed everything, with the exception of the Topre clacks (I don't have a Topre keyboard) and the $120 set because I did not want to spend that much and figured there was very little chance of winning it anyway.

I just listed one skull :(  That's all I wanted.  I thought CC specifically asks not to list everything in his notes.  And 3 maximum implied listing 3 things at most.  Unless he meant you can list 5 things but only get 3...  Anyway, by the tone of his notes, it looked like listing more than 3 was a bad idea.

AFAIK you can list whatever and he takes the first 3 in that order that are available. Everything else is alternate to what's for sale. That being said, I only listed the two things I wanted with one alternative.

I don't own Topre or BS boards but I can still "use" them for trade. I've turned Topre clacks into MX clacks this way about 3 times now. During the 4:20 sale I got in with my 17th and 18th choice or something like that. If I only listed what I could use on my boards I would still be sitting here clackless.

I think it is simply bad form for some people to post their whining response that they "only" got one clack, while someone else got more than one. Most of us got none, so, with all politeness I say, STFU.

I'm sorry if my post came off like that. I don't think there's one person that gets in the sale and takes it for granted that they got a chance to get clacks direct. Of course I'm grateful for what I got, I was saying that it's unfortunate that I could've bought two more clacks if I listed them, but mistakes were made on my part, being my first sale and all, I didn't really know what I was doing. The point of my post wasn't to tell the world that I got one clack instead of three, it was to share my amateur mistake that I made not listing more alternative clacks so that if I did get in, then I would be able to get three clacks.

Your "mistake" resulted in someone getting them when they otherwise wouldn't have, so it could be considered a good thing overall. I kind of wish the sale we're limited to one per person too, but that's a little bit silly for mailing purposes.

Same, I was really surpised that CC allowed 3 clacks. If there was a one clack limit it would make people think twice about which clacks they actually wanted instead of clackwhoaring as many as possible for future profit.

Just because someone gets more than one it doesn't automatically mean they're looking to profit. I've got quite a bit in 2 4grabs sales (got my 3 chosen clacks here) and I'll be using them all daily on my board! Big shock! :p

At the end of the day, its a work of art.

FTFY.

Clacks should be appreciated as the art they are. The medium doesn't matter. They should not be used to make a profit for the initial purchaser, nor to be used as currency.

I'll just come out and say: Yes, this. I didn't get clack hype until I got a clack. It's an addiction with a crazy pull and I don't know how the pull happened, but I LOVE slowly forming a collection!

I'd also like to know that, because I went back and tried to read the replies, and it looks like they are pointing at my post...  But I didn't get anything from this sale, as stated before, and my post was of a different nature--more on the logistics of how the choosing goes.

Eh i listed everything available in the sale in the order i wanted them; there wasn't anything there that i didn't want unlike the 420 sale where i do not wish to own anything with a "leaf". Yet again i didn't get any MX clacks but I got 15, 16, and 17 to make a nice triple on my model m.

From what i can tell he goes by in the order in which it hits his inbox and he allows you have up to 3 of your choices in the order of preference listed in the email then by in the order they are available/stocked. it may just be as simple as he has a column in a spreadsheet for each key caps and lists the names under them in the order in which he received them in his inbox, once the number of rows matches the stock then its over for that key cap; and after a person reaches 3 selections that person is cut off. that is how i HOPE he handles it; what i worry about is if he treats anyone preferential selection.

i'm starting to feel bad for getting 3......i may have to pay it forward on geekhack somehow to feel better.
