Why aren't the legend colors on other keys like those in the nav cluster or numpad colored the same as the other grey keys on that row?

It's part of the Tsangan.
It's not blank so would be no use for an hhkb style ctrl / caps lock switchout

u need a ctrl 1.75 then, part of what is often called the anti-capslock kit.

Then I would suggest:
1.75 capslock/ctrl full touch
1.75 capslock/ctrl stepped center stem
1.75 capslock/ctrl stepped off-center stem
1.50 capslock/ctrl
1.25 capslock/ctrl

These look like a lot, but many GB have had all these options in the past.

There's no good reason, other than I thought it would be really busy, which personally I am not a fan of / would not buy. Maybe the numpad could use a little love though for those who use it on a separate key pad. Maybe orange numlock / green enter?

yowza... is all of that necessary? Would definitely need to be a separate kit if so. Otherwise, the request was for a 1.75x modifier for row 3, which if blank could probably just be added somewhere as it would not affect price adversely.

I'm super excited about the set you have in the OP. The set matches my IDE color scheme that I set similar to Solarized.

Ask 7bit about SP's new SA molds. All keys are available now with the correct row profile and width. :)

Why not some mods for HHKB?  :)

Welcome to Geekhack!

And ... FTFY :p

Why not some mods for HHKB-like layout?  :)

What keys would need to be added? Don't know HHKB layout, its just not my thing.

I will be very happy if you can bring a kit contains:
Row2 1x 1u ESCAPE (already in Tsangan Kit)
Row2 1x 1u \|
Row3 1x 1.5u DELETE
Row3 1x 1.75u CONTROL
Row3 1x 1.75u SHIFT (already in Tsangan Kit)
Row3 1x 1u FN
Row4 2x 1.5u META (I always use ALT instead if there is no proper keycaps...)
Row4 2x 1u ALT (I always use left and right arrow key instead if there is no proper keycaps...)
Row4 1x 7u(for GH60?) Space bar (already in Tsangan Kit)

BTW, I'm loving solarized color scheme with vim and terminal.  :D

Dear All Who Are Interested In This Set,

due to unforeseen personal circumstances, Ryan Uber will not be able to run this group buy as he has to focus on something unrelated to keyboards for the immediate future.  Having discussed the situation with him, I have consulted BunnyLake for advice and tips on running a group buy, and Bunny has in turn offered to make this set a reality with the help of his Ctrl Alt Store.  That is great news for all of us, as Bunny and his team now have the infrastructure in place to deal with orders as well as experience with running Signature Plastics keycap group buys.  And personally, I think this set fits well with current and past Ctrl Alt Store sets in terms of personality and being unusual.

I am glad that this concept now has a good chance of ending up on our keyboards!  Please thank BunnyLake for allowing it to happen!  And thanks to Ryan Uber again for coming up with the idea and all the work on the current mock ups, communication with SP, responding to feedback, and other organizing details.

yes indeedy guys i will be picking this up so it can still happen without to much delay

i dont wanna sit on this long but would be interested in feedback about timing with this set, im happy to run it alongside the nostalgia gb or i can launch this just after nostalgia ordering ends, so in about 2 and half weeks, i have spent some time going through this thread as best as possible today, and will do my best to keep as many people happy as possible whilst maintaining the integrity and vision of the original idea

Probably a better idea to fire it up after Nostalgia to let people's wallets have a chance to recover. Excited for my first SA set!
It's a good width!  If it's half-width it's too narrow, and full-width is too wide.

Actually you make a good point, with an 8 week turnaround maybe it should start asap. 30 days seems like heaps of time for people to get their cash together.

there will be 2 weeks left on nostalgia on sunday

as for starting this, i have a few hoops to jump through first, i need to get some artwork done, a logo etc and rejiggle the site a little, but ill get things rolling

we have a pretty low minimum to hit on this to make the pricing acceptable, and one we will hit easy so this will all be go

This link is 23 Commando, JIL did really good on that set: http://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=45655.0

1. I think you need to add 4 - 1x button to R1 of Numpad kit. It's very useful for who use fullboard

2. If possible please create a Gamer kit

3. You can see 23 COmmando upgrade kit 1. He made alot of keycap, so we will have more choice on our board

the numberpad will be totally complete sir, as for extension kits, i kinda think keeping this kit clean is for the best, and more in-keeping with the original IP

if there is a huge huge demand ill look into it, but i think commando needed that for its theme, and i dont think this set does, however, id be interested in hearing others thoughts

Ask 7bit about SP's new SA molds. All keys are available now with the correct row profile and width. :)

Hey Bunny,

I didn't see a response to this before. Above ^

Is this true?

Also, Moz suggested I start an IC to see if people wanted legend support for ergdox mods to go with this set. That would involve putting it to a vote I think.

I wanted to do it but I never did one before.

Do you think enough people would be interested?

The main issues would be legend colors and getting people to agree on a common setup. Many people don't just use the default setup.

Most ergodox kits are blank. I think that would look weird considering the alphas on an ergodox have legends.

It seems like there need to be ErgoDox-specific group buys to really satisfy ErgoDox users.  This is a general observation, having seen the laments of ErgoDox users in various group buy threads.  Any "standard" group buy other than DSA profile will probably have trouble being perfect for ergonomic layouts and layouts strongly deviating from the "standard" (common).

I've said it before, legend ErgoDox GB is hard, very hard, since we don't have enough users to be able to have these limited number of users to be further segregate based on specific layouts.

sorry for the late reply guys, i was out

so here is the deal with ergodox kits, i made one for my hyperfuse gb, if a key profile that is perfect for dox users, and basically nobody ordered it, in fact so so so few people ordered it, in order to make it possible for the people who did order it, i had to shell out a ton of my own money to make it happen, i really like to make these things happen, and if the numbers are there, im happy too, but it is my experience that the numbers arent even close to making it viable, if someone wants to run a poll about a dox kit, and we can get enough interest, im down with it, but.... it has to be a poll for people who will actually lay down money to back up their desire for the kit, because i have found that lots of people are vocal about wanting something, until it comes time to order

The GB for CalmDepths was different, it had many many orders for the ErgoDox.

i thought it only hit in the mid 40's

but for an ergo kit that is still plenty, but that massively impacts how many ergodox kits will be sold in this gb as they are all waiting on that one

im not saying no, im saying if the orders are there ill happily do it, i was just saying i dont think they are, their is a poll in the op about dox kits, i think it has 9 people in it expressing an interest last time i checked, and i would be surprised if all 9 converted to orders based on prior experience, but i would be very very happy to be proved wrong

yeah i dont know if many people knew that hyper fuse had a ergodox kit and yes i know it showed the kit right there in the first picture.

bunny not sure if you saw that for the commando SA profile one the ergodox orders were very low as well and to make it work they ordered the blanks unsorted because there was so little to have to sort, that lowered the price alot.

i dont pay for sorting anyway so i cant shave money off that way

i really do wanna support the ergodox community, and the dsa version of hyperfuse was really just a nod to them, that buy would have been dcs only if it wasnt for ergodox

i think what i will do with this buy on the order page, have a tick box for if people want an ergodox kit, and a tick box for if people only want their order if they can get a dox kit, that way i can invoice for the dox kit separately if we can hit a tier where the price makes sense, and not invoice the orders at all that will only proceed if the dox is included, but keep everything running smoothly for the non dox users

bunny, ill be honest with you for hyper fused i ordered a DCS base kit actually for my ergodox, the DCS base with DSA mods works really well for ergodox as i've discussed in the past. The dsa kit i bought in hyper fuse is actually for a normal TKL board or GH60; for some reason i like DSA on normal boards but cant stand it on the ergodox.

here is what the mix looks like, i think i have shown this before.

my point is i think selling just a dsa mod kit for ErgoDox is fine without offering DSA base is fine. though others would need to chime in

in fact when i get back from a bunch of different trips in november i think im going to put up an IC for ergodox dsa "add-on" kits for DCS sets like Klaxon, CCnG, and Raindrop

edit: btw i love this Penumbra set colors, i know im going off topic here, sorry about that, its related!

I don't think allot of people noticed the ergodox vote. I almost missed it.

There was no notice. It was a color vote before.

oh ps, im also looking into offering one extra kit, if people are interested, of the alt color solarized alphas

Super interested in this.

I was hoping for a poll option for Penumbra mods and Solarized alphas, but it wasn't.

So is the non-ErgoDox set a sure thing at this point?

I hope Ryan is OK and that he can get in on this set once things are set up. Thanks Bunny for stepping in. I'm confident that this will be a smooth GB now. I'll probably get both alpha sets if they are available.
