I just came to the realization that most of my friends are Electrical & Computer Engineers and I'm now a Computer Scientist at college.  They're all starting to get their famous workload that causes them to have to study all day & work late on projects.  I'm all alone oAo

I seriously ****ed up my b.face by trying to desolder an LED... so ****ing pissed, I destroyed one of the traces because of how hard it is to desolder leds, so a couple keys didn't register, and that was it, and ****ing genius me decides that I can fix it by soldering the two broken traces together. **** me with a stick, because I now have a whole column registering when I press any of the number keys... this really made me upset, and I type this on my HHKB. If I can't get it fixed, I might have to wait a bit before I can buy a new PCB. What can you take from this? Test your LEDs before putting them in your board.

I think I'm graduating with the wrong degree.
I did that twice. Now I'm back in school for the degree I should have gotten in the first place.

(...)Whereas back then I wrote about the tyranny of the majority, today I'd combine that with the tyranny of the minorities. These days, you have to be careful of both. They both want to control you. The first group, by making you do the same thing over and over again. The second group is indicated by the letters I get from the Vassar girls who want me to put more women's lib in The Martian Chronicles, or from blacks who want more black people in Dandelion Wine.
I say to both bunches, Whether you're a majority or minority, bug off! To hell with anybody who wants to tell me what to write. Their society breaks down into subsections of minorities who then, in effect, burn books by banning them. All this political correctness that's rampant on campuses is b.s.

I traded a Nub Trooper to SpicyLobotomy and gave him a Judgemental skull I had for free because he asked. All this before his stunt and removal from GH. He seemed like an ok guy who was excited about the caps and had a board they'd match. Well he is now trying to sell the pair on r/mechmarket for $75. This is the first time cap markup has really annoyed me. I think this may be my motivation to really give up on reddit.  :(

PM him on Reddit. He buys caps just to flip them. He always has a thread after HKP sales trying to sell them for markup. Post this on Reddit, hope no one buys from him. They already cross post from here anyways.

I don't know but he said his phone's ip was banned or something like that, he may have been lying.

Edit: Still stand by what I said but the ripster joke was a bit too far.  :thumb:

I don't know but he said his phone's ip was banned or something like that, he may have been lying on reddit to **** on GH, but he did stop showing up here. He was probably promoted to a higher rank in ripster's army.

Edit: It looks like he still logs on, but either way **** him.  :thumb:

Just wanna give a quick reply to all this. I buy and sell a lot of things. I constantly change my mind, and sell stuff when I do. I'm only on this site to buy artisan boards, not to interact with any of the idiots that plague it. Pwnnarwal or whatever is not correct when he says I sell HKP at a markup. I never have and I never will. Though I do not consider it a bad thing if someone did. Supply and demand (I assume most of you guys haven't learned basic econ yet) is not a bad thing. I was attempting to sell these caps, and I had no idea the value as they were trades from this Joey Quinn *****, who can politely go **** himself as well.

If you aren't interested in buying my caps, stay off my thread. Pretty damn simple. I have no interest in Ripster or GH for that matter. I'm glad you wasted your time worrying about this stuff. Makes me feel important.

As a side note, I never would have seen this thread if it wasn't for your buddy PwnNarwhal following me around and spamming me. Great people you have representing you. Peace

I had an appointment with Rogers today between 5 - 8PM to set up my internet (why they can't just provision my modem like a normal company...). I get a call at 3:52 confirming my appointment at 4PM. After arguing with the guy for four or five minutes, I agree to RACE home (2.2km) on foot in a snow storm to meet him by 4:15.

Best part? I get to my apartment by 4:13, call him (he is no where to be found in the lobby, where he said he would be waiting) and he says, "Oh, yeah. I'll be there in a few minutes."

****. ROGERS.

And now I have a 12 down, 9 up connection. Paying for 60/10. UGH.

Up to this move, our internet was fine. We were getting 58 down and pushing around 10 up without issue. Now? Not so much. We were supposed to get a USB LTE adapter a few days ago. That came in today. In time for Rogers to **** me around some more.

I would complain to the CRTC, but that'd be basically like calling Rogers to complain. You know, what with all the overlap and whatnot.

I don't think I could handle the first day. Just helping family members is so frustrating, because even explaining the most basic things, take an extra 5 minutes, and some of them are too oblivious to hide their porn on the computers ಢ_ಢ , and people are just frustrating to work with.

That bothers me. Its the same as when someone asks you a question, then does the opposite of what you advise. It frustrates me when my girlfriend does that!! "Should I wear the black or red dress?" "I think the black one looks better" "I think I will wear the red one."

Almost any fix does require a restart thought, and honestly, turning on & off really is what fixes most of the stuff.

Just finding out that there was a Majora's Mask themed New 3DS that I will never find because pre-orders are long gone and folks are paying $400+ for the system. **** me, would have matched my Zelda themed 3DS XL so well.

Guess I'll just not buy a new 3ds for awhile, bah. So salty, hold me.

Almost any fix does require a restart thought, and honestly, turning on & off really is what fixes most of the stuff.

It's a surprise that people who use computers every day have no idea how they work, or that restarting is a viable solution.

*****es been watching too much IT Crowd.
Can we get them to build the Alps ten feet higher and get Cherry to pay for it?

My dad also knows a lot about computers, and can even build them, as he once would steal parts from a company that shared an office space, and to go on a tangent, he is surprised that Model Ms and SSKs are worth so much, as when he still worked there, they were thrown away by the dumpster. Back to the thread, he just tells people I don't know, and let's them ask someone else, usually me :|

I don't even care about keyboards anymore, bah. It's just going to hurt every time I pull out the lame ass red or black one I end up getting and say "this could be so much better". Then I'll cry onto it and it'll short circuit.

I'm with you here man.
My brother in law plays games and **** for like ~14 hours a day and when the slightest thing goes wrong he has no idea what to do and *****es to everyone constantly till someone fixes it for him or if something breaks he nags everyone till someone buys the part for him.
I asked him why he doesn't just take a day or something to learn about his system more and how to fix it he just told me, "because i only care about gaming and ****, i don't have time to waste learning how it works" He's like 20-22 unemployed living with his parents and gained significant weight after 20.

Even if he doesn't want to learn, how the hell hasn't he even picked it up from playing games?! Anybody I play games with has built their own PC, and we talk about parts a lot, and I don't even game much anymore, but even still we talk about parts. That's just being lazy, and I feel bad for his parents :/

That's the part that blows my mind too man, cause that's how i learnt about computers was through gaming cause with PC gaming not everything works the way it should and you have to find out how to fix whatever weird issue you're having and that kind of teaches you your way around the OS and certain things there. And then yeah sometimes your hardware breaks and you need to troubleshoot to figure out how to fix that or what part you need to buy to fix it, a lot of times this leads into just building a new PC which is what it did for me. I talk about hardware with my buddies all the time too.
He just nags other people to do it since his uncle is very familiar with computers and his parents just don't want to deal with him nagging on top of them spoiling him but the worst part is that they're not even well off at all, I dunno man, he's just games and literally pays attention to nothing else except smoking a TON of pot.
One thing i do have to mention that i find impressive is his ability to not care at all about his hardware as long as his PC can play the game even at the lowest settings he's happy, something i have a hard time doing but lately it's made more sense since i game a lot less so it's just a glorified GeekHack machine lol.

I used to game a good bit, and have put around 4k hours in over the past 2 or 3 years on Steam, and easily 10k on Minecraft, but they have just lost interest with me, my machine is now a glorified internet machine, although I do also watch a lot of movies and television shows.

Someone in the company decided to click an attachment they shouldn't have now there's a slow chain of emails from whatever virus/spyware it was going out to everyone trying to infect more computers. I'd hate to be the corporate IT guy right now.

We have people emailing the service desk all the time asking why apple are sending emails to their work accounts about their apple accounts.

Seriously, how can people be so unaware of everything?

Why bother using common sense and thinking when you can fill that space with knowing what the Kardashians did last night?

Because IT Security isn't important to anyone.

Until people's money starts disappearing.

Or AI rises up and kills us all.
