The new Chrome facility to bookmark a page.  Used to be Ctrl-D, select folder, done.

The new one looks weird, and took me a good 3 or 4 tries before I could work out how it went.  No idea where those bookmarks went, or even if.

Why change something simple that people are familiar with and just works?

Yep, the new bookmark feature sucks.

http://www.chromestory.com/2014/11/disable-chromes-redesigned-bookmark-manager/

Thanks - works like a treat :)
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

LAZY ASS USPS Postman just leaving an "undelivered" notice in my mailbox and didn't even come to the door. Oh it's on!
Just send flat rate shipping on click n ship, and set them on your porch, but this only works if you have a mailbox that is at the end of a driveway or something
Sounds like he is receiving not shipping.

i dont mind donating to worthy causes, but the constant spamming through the mail makes me regret it every single time I get one.

Pallets are too well made these days...
did you try to break some with your hands?

A large hammer and a larger saw. I was trying to keep the slats in tact which is where my problem lies.
Can we get them to build the Alps ten feet higher and get Cherry to pay for it?

BT Internet is bothering me. Last night was the third night in a row where the internet has been ****ing awful for no reason.
I pay for a 20mb/s connection, now it's not fiber and it's not ever going to be where I live, but the connection shouldn't randomly, without reason or warning drop to 0.2mb/s. On top of that the BT router I'm using randomly seems to just disconnect me from the internet... nothing I seem to do fixes it and there are no faults on my line...

The service is truly awful

Trying to quit smoking again but approaching it from a different angle.

I already cut back my per day, but now I also switched to American Spirits. I didn't realize just how badly I was addicted to all the additives in the Camels I've been smoking for 15 years; I smoke a Spirit and don't feel satisfied at all. Shaking. Ugh.
My wife I a also push her button . But now she have her button push by a different men. So I buy a keyboard a mechanicale, she a reliable like a Fiat.

Indeed it is, indeed it is had the exact same thing happen to me about a month ago took 2 weeks before I got a normal connection because they had banded my line as it kept dropping for no apparent reason, fiber was meant to be put in last September turns out my council is refusing to take the money from the gov, and want it funded a different way I don't understand sometime ;-;

You will pay a little more for it, and if you have a TV deal it's probably not worth it but I cannot recommend A&A enough.   They are great to deal with and if you do have an issue they will fight openreach and not leave you to do it.

If it's wifi that is dropping there could be many reasons for that.  Do you live in flats or a house?  Are there other buildings near you?  Have you done a channel survey?  What channels are your neighbours using?  Are you torrenting/streaming tv over your wi-fi?

I hired a van to move my friend out of her flat. Ended up scratching up the side on a tree because some ******* didn't leave enough room at the entrance to her apartment complex.

Just spent the last hour trying to wash the scratches out, and ended up having to use clay bar too. On a ****ing hire van  :'(
Can we get them to build the Alps ten feet higher and get Cherry to pay for it?

Yeah I think a new router is 100% in order, if the line to my flat works fine... why would my router have piss-fits all the time?

It could be something simple like the router trying to refresh ip address against the ISP. Ive had this problem before. Check that before buying a new one :)

On top of that the BT router I'm using randomly seems to just disconnect me from the internet... nothing I seem to do fixes it and there are no faults on my line...

The service is truly awful
When you talk about drops do you mean Wifi? In particular Apple devices?

It is wifi yeah (because of the location of the phone line/router having a cable line isn't possible) but it's all devices, not just Apple ones.

I had this problem so I bought this off amazon
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00A122XG6?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00
Is fantastic, fixed my dropping issues completely, 10/10 would recommend.

Yeah I think a new router is 100% in order, if the line to my flat works fine... why would my router have piss-fits all the time?

It could be something simple like the router trying to refresh ip address against the ISP. Ive had this problem before. Check that before buying a new one :)

it's not a new router, I've had it for some 6+ months now and while it's ****e... it's never been this ****e...

ugh!
just remember, she's on minimum wage, and not intentionally trying to annoy you.
but srsly, how can you not physically connect a wire? Borrow a laptop and an ethernet cable?
FWIW I noticed a big difference in performance and reliability with the new SKY wifi box vs the old one.
You didn't say which light was flashing orange so it doesn't help in determining whether the fault is with the line or the wifi.
EDIT: "the whole router flashes orange"  - sounds like a line issue rather than a wifi issue -> need an engineer callout. Better hope they find something!

BT Customer support....

baldgye: hello?
NEELAM BHATIA:  hi
baldgye: I got disconnected again while it was loading
NEELAM BHATIA: may I know bt landline number and your full name
baldgye:
NEELAM BHATIA: thanks , as i understand you disconnect from bt wifi connections '
baldgye: yes
baldgye: every 10-20 mins
NEELAM BHATIA: does it happen on wired connections as well
baldgye: and the connection speed when i am connected is very very slow
baldgye: i dont know its not physically possible to connect, but when I loose connection via the wifi the whole router flashes orange
NEELAM BHATIA: does it happen on both wired and wireless , both .
NEELAM BHATIA: does it happen on both wired and wireless , both .
baldgye:  i dont know its not physically possible to connect, but when I loose connection via the wifi the whole router flashes orange
NEELAM BHATIA: does it drop on wired connections
baldgye: I assume so because the whole router flashes orange which indicates a connection problem, but like I said, i cannot physically connect via a wire
NEELAM BHATIA: so it does not connect in wired or it drops out

Yeah I know, but like really... BT shouldn't be employing people in these random ****ing countries who struggle with English, the support is horrible and when you speak to them over the phone they have no concept of what a European house or anything is like

I live in a 300 year old building that was turned into flats. The phone line isn't in a position that's close to me PC and as it's rented I can't drill holes in the walls or door frames for a cable to go through and my laptop died a while ago and as I have a phone, I've had no reason get a replacement.

I've got a replacement router being sent to me for free, so we'll see how that goes.

I love the UK but BT, British Gas, Royal Mail, Network Rail... not the greatest Privatised corporations  :-X
unless they have some unforeseeable downside (like they're actually made of cream cheese cunningly disguised as ABS)

Royal Mail is probably one of the best mail services in the UK, hands down. British Gas aren't bad, but BT and Network Rail have not been any good since privatisation. But you can't really compare the two timeframes because of the massive technological advances...

There are literally hundreds of great British companies renowned across the world for quality.

OK, ok, it's not fantastic, it's no USPS, but it's better than UKMail and Yodel. Man **** those two companies. I wish Parcel Line didn't die.

The first group, by making you do the same thing over and over again. The second group is indicated by the letters I get from the Vassar girls who want me to put more women's lib in The Martian Chronicles, or from blacks who want more black people in Dandelion Wine.
I say to both bunches, Whether you're a majority or minority, bug off! To hell with anybody who wants to tell me what to write. And I thought this story was over....

I finished my online chat session organising delivery of a replacement router and gave my number telling them not to ring me but they needed it for the delivery man, fine.

It's 10pm, I'm in bed, I have work tomorrow... My phone rings... It's BT support in the strongest Indian accent you can imagine over a terrible line, apparently this woman has been logging into my router, changing settings and generally ****ing around without my permission and knowledge.
It's 4 ****ing hours after my chat with support how the **** can she be ringing me at 10pm telling me this random ****?!?!

a BT router works as a wifi hotspot for any BT customer. so it broadcasts an additional SSID, spoiling the chosen channel even more.

also, a BT "engineer" who installed their line in my apartment used my bathroom and neither flushed nor washed his hands.

What the hell happened these past two days?! I feel like all of GH became off topic.
People in the 1980s, in general, were clearly just better than we are now in every measurable way.

The dumber the reason the more it must be done

DO you have to use the BT router?   I always just buy my own, get a better model and have full control.

I don't have too, but when I got it I figured my connection wouldn't be great and in the past when I've been with BT and had a problem they have tried to 'solve' its been a nightmare (yeah even worse) if you have a 3rd party router.
Hell I remember one time a guy wanted to remote into my laptop to access something and I was running a beta of Windows 7 and I had to spend 20mins explaining what it was and why it wasn't XP...
