I get pretty bothered when people start losing an argument and then resort to attacking the person in opposition rather than try to prove their point.

I'm in the process of recovering from a bad motorcycle accident. Currently they have me taking generic Percoset as a pain killer. Every time I take it, I feel the most incredible relief as a result of the oxycodone. I'm really afraid that I'm going to become addicted.

 :-[

If you can avoid it the thrill of being on the motorcycle is not worth the increased risk :/.

If you are speaking about Meiosis, he has a very valid point.

It came to my attention just now it was beehatch who posted the seven points (tapatalk), so I won't bother arguing with you.

There's no argument to make, I don't know where I "attacked" you but if that's the case please report the post, and I apologize.

As for the tinlong comment he kind of screwed over fifty of us and disappeared.

No, I'm not speaking about Meiosis directly but I have seen a few arguments turn out that way pretty fast. I did find it a bit disappointing though that he called beehatch out on having no friends and not valuing the community rather than telling us what the controversy is actually about on the other forums. When you start out with an ambiguous statement directed at a fair bit of people, you're bound to get some hate.

I don't think you attacked me at all, I don't have a problem with you. I'm just trying to say you came out with a pretty bold statement and did not provide any evidence as to what the controversy was about. All you said was to look learn Chinese and Korean to then go read the other forums. Considering you originally thought that was me and not beehatch I am quite disappointed then that you think I don't value the community or don't have any friends.

I feel the most incredible relief

I'm really afraid that I'm going to become addicted.

As soon as you don't *REALLY* need the relief any more, stop taking it.

Back off to naproxen or ibuprophen and save the hard stuff for *ONLY* the times when you really need it.

"However, even though I was born in the Mesozoic, I do know what anyone who wants to reach out to young people should say: Billionaires took your money. They took your chance to buy a home. They took your chance at a good education. They stole your opportunities. Billionaires took the things you want in life. If you really want those things, you have to take them back.
That's the message. That's the whole message. Say that every day, not just to reach America's frustrated young white men, but people of every age, race, and gender.
Late-stage capitalism is a wealth-concentration engine, focused on vacuuming up every dollar and putting it in as few hands as possible. Republicans are helping that vacuum suck.
How does a tiny fraction of the population get away with this? They do it by dividing the other 99% of Americans against themselves."

Hey Meiosis, I guess you're talking about me, huh? I've been pretty outspoken against artisan clones, so I gather you are talking about me.

To be completely honest with you, I had no idea that the TGR-Jane CE was controversial. Now that I look at pics of the 356CL, I can see that the sides of the Jane CE are similar. But I had no idea until I read this thread just now that people (Koreans? Custom collectors?) were considering the Jane CE a "clone" of the 356CL. Can you point me to the unrest?

Not directed at you jd, I was just noting that it was pretty ironic, only recently did I learn about the drama involved in how the design came to be. While there are 25 being opened to GH there are plenty more offsite with much more liberal customizations.

You don't look at the sides and bottom of your keyboard. Most of us don't look at our keyboards at all.

It all comes down to the internals, really, and that is basically decided by each user with switch type.

I guess the ONLY thing could be the difference between a quality programmable pcb or not?

While there are 25 being opened to GH there are plenty more offsite with much more liberal customizations.

Ah, okay, thank you for the clarification. And it does open my eyes to the similarities, but I didn't realize it was controversial.

And I didn't know anything about the above quoted part, either!

You don't look at the sides and bottom of your keyboard. Most of us don't look at our keyboards at all.

It all comes down to the internals, really, and that is basically decided by each user with switch type.

I guess the ONLY thing could be the difference between a quality programmable pcb or not?

Yes and as I stated in my original post I was glad it was being made because the original is outdated, honestly my friend is supplying the pcbs going into this keyboard, but everyone is attacking me saying I feel my keyboards will be devalued..

Honestly this hobby to me is about collecting original pieces, artisans and keyboards alike. I hate k3kc because he is directly profiting off of brocaps and clacks design and the work that went into them. But for keyboards they are made to be identical.

So for the last point I will make: I simply think it's ironic people who hated fake artisans are buying such a intentionally closely designed case to another keyboard.

Its basically a complete ripoff of the 360c also

no hate tho

Hmmm. I didn't know that either. I've never been fortunate enough to possess a 356CL or 360 Corsa, so I had no clue. I do seem to remember that the 360C and 356CL were very similar, as both are OTD designs.
Here is a 360c from the side: (photo by jonathanryu)

And here is from underneath (bad picture, just found this in one of my albums):

The TGR-Jane CE is completely different.

1. The brass insert is on the inside of the case, not the outside. It is polished and coated, and smaller.
2. It only uses 8 screws (I think) to attach the bottom case to the top.

See? ;)

Don't think it's anything bad though! My friend leeku is making the pcbs for this case and I'm happy it's going through. The tgr 1 is great quality and yuktsi is bringing a new aluminum type into the customs field. This is probably better in all aspects other then "collectors" items.

Edit: to save space, the copy is of the 356cl the bar is on the inside and sides are straight, the bar was changed for the gh gb as to avoid more controversy. But as far as I know the full size bar is offered too.

Ah. I agree with you. I think that, when it comes to keyboard designs, there are only so many ways it can be done. It's not like anyone would look at the TGR-Jane CE with it's logo on the top, and think it's a 356CL. Which is not apparent when we talk about artisan cap copies. People with the 356CL or 360 Corsa should be confident that their keyboard still retains its value.

I'm in the "there's only so many designs you can make from a slab of aluminium" group and I did order a CE, but I will just post some pictures of the CE and the 356CL to better illustrate what some are talking about. It should be noted that the large brass piece pictured is only on the TGR CE prototype, and not the GB ones.

I would argue there's a bit of a difference between taking another artisan's caps, making a mold of them, and selling future copies as your own, and an enthusiast taking inspiration from another enthusiast's designs.  But that's just my interpretation of this whole situation.

yuktsi was pretty vocal about his design inspirations. The r1 board was to look like the KMAC, which is primarily why I jumped on it, whereas r2 looks like the OTD boards. I agree that there's only so much you can do and keep it aluminum. The newer Korean boards are starting to look different only because there's more and more acrylic being put in. Other than the Mira, which has a smaller bottom, I really don't know how else you can change the designs of aluminum TKLs.
