****ing data caps.
I went over for the third time this month.  Now I am getting charge extra.  It makes me unreasonably angry to be limited by someone with assume authority.  I feel so impotent in my rage.
Then they notify you about going over the cap.  I got an email, a pop up, and a phone call all asking if I wanted to buy a bigger data plan.  I told the lady on the phone that it is a usurious practice and will be made illegal soon enough.  She didn't understand that sentence, so I just told her "no thanks" and hung up.  There is no reason for me to get mad at a call center lady for company policy.
The bigger plan they want to sell you? $10 extra per month.  The charge for going over my cap? $10.  They are just trying to pull every last cent out of stupid people.
My current daily usage is 7-8 GB/day.  The outlier this month was downloading Fallout 4.  I don't stream anything, so my usage is outrageous.  Right about now, you might be asking "Blue, what do you do on the internet to reach 8 GB/day if you don't stream with Netflix or something?"  I can answer that.  I am running ntop on my server, and I'm getting flow reports from my DDWRT.  The majority of my usage is on non-standard ports to 1e100.net.  Not familiar with them?  IT'S ****ING GOOGLE.  I lose so much bandwidth per day to Google running **** in the background of my PC it is insane.
Every day **** like this happens I feel like I am one step closer to going full Linux.
Edit: also, since I was rationing my internet over the weekend, I missed out on the latest drama here.
