I was up late last night. That isn't bothering me though, and I know that is my own fault. I can handle being sleepy. But at 6:30am we had a power outage at work. The UPS that protects our datacenter failed spectacularly. Now power is back on in the building, but the UPS is in an error condition which is making all power fail to our primary datacenter. In my IT world, where everything runs 24x7x365 this is as close to a catastrophe as I can think of without some kind of actual disaster happening. Monday morning and all the phones and systems are down. Including, by certainly not limited, to our public web sites.

Bringing all this back up is going to be a nightmare.

I hope you are able to reinstate IT services smoothly.

Worst thing when the boss is looking over your shoulder as the main server reboots and it decides to do a mandatory fsck 'cause it hasn't rebooted for 6 months.
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Thanks! It went more or less as good as I could have possibly hoped. There are a couple things that aren't coming up clean, but for the most part all the critical stuff made it through alive. I did have my boss ask me about 45  times in a 20 minute span when things were going to be fixed. I was getting proper annoyed at that. Like give me 5 minutes straight to look at things and then I'll have more news than "Same as the last time you checked". I'm good, but I'm not a miracle worker.

It is 8pm now, this started at 6am, and I'm just about ready to go home. I was prepared for a 2am night, so this really isn't too bad. Tomorrow when people are back and using everything should be interesting though!

Was supposed to get a Midi Foot Controller for my ElevenRack today. Tracked this damn package for a week. The UPS guy pulled into my drive, sat there, then just drove off with no package being left on my porch.

Mine tends to tangle and untangle itself according to its whims.

I just go along with it.

I have put some much time sourcing all the parts for it and I love typing on it so much.

But on the other hand I have so many other ambitious projects I want to go after as well...

Why do beautiful keyboards have to cost so much D=

That is like people which tape up the vents in office blocks because it is drafty, get a bunch of these people doing it and it messes with the distribution causing wider complaints.

Based on who submitted the ticket I would not be surprised in the slightest if they brought that sort of gear to work, or that floor has this information somewhere

Yeah, this one needs to be disassembled for the sliders and caps so i figured i'd try it out before i take it apart.

I double ordered a high end mouse and can't find anyone who can buy it in my town.
Post in classifieds! Someone will buy. People love good mice. :)

Been suspiciously lethargic for the past few days, I wonder if weather has anything to do with it.

Also dreading the day when I have to sell 70% of my keyboard collection when I get back in a few weeks.

Spent the last two nights trying to revert back to windows seven after my windows 10 died again. Been having USB driver issues.

After 24 hours, I'm back on Windows 7. Think I've reinstalled about 6 or 7 times in the last 8 months or so, so my SSD might be close to failure.

Also apparently I have only 4GB of RAM installed so I think my MOBO is fried too. Yay
Can we get them to build the Alps ten feet higher and get Cherry to pay for it?

Make sure you didn't install 32bit! Verify through your BIOS just to be sure.

Episode three - The final submission

That's probably a good idea. I need to reboot to install updates anyway.

I really, really like Win10. I just happen to have the worst luck and it constantly breaks for me.
