I got the same, but I have power. It was sketchy there for a minute when it got crazy windy. I hope you get power soon. If not, I got a couch you can crash on to stay warm.

Im getting extremely agitated that I cant find a job, or even somewhere to volunteer. When you tell people you are 'deaf, partially blind and cant talk well' you never even get a reply. Its been 8 years since Ive had a real job and 4 years since my last volunteer gig (at the local deaf services center).

Yea I know, tell me about it. First I was listening to Bad Religion but then I was pulled in to the Millencolin hype and it was all downhill from there.

I've been around here for a while and there are very few people who listen to the stuff I do. You are speaking my language! I still listen to Bad Religion regularly. And "No Cigar" by Millencollin is still fantastic. Man, the 90's sucked for me, but I got some good music out out of it.

What's bothering me?

Im getting extremely agitated that I cant find a job, or even somewhere to volunteer. When you tell people you are 'deaf, partially blind and cant talk well' you never even get a reply. Its been 8 years since Ive had a real job and 4 years since my last volunteer gig (at the local deaf services center).

The last job I worked at was this fast food/ convenience store place and a group of deaf people would stop by for food regularly. They all seemed to do everything together it was pretty cool to see. I wish you luck, maybe an opportunity with present itself soon.

Well, I didn't get eight inches, but the power was out for me most of Sunday.  It sucked.  The good thing when it's cold is at least you don't have to worry about your food spoiling.

we're in the same boat. I would love to show of my collection, hell.. I even have a decent camera, but every pic I take does not show up like hoff'ss or naasfu's

Definitely the easiest way to get nice looking pictures is to use natural light. You'll get the best looking pictures without much effort to do a bunch of set up with lighting. Then just make sure you try and use a low ISO. Even if you just do those two things, you should get at least decent pictures.

A few tips

* Use a tripod
* set a timer, so that you dont move the camera the slightest upon activating the shutter
* Try your hardest to use natural light, if not possible try to use a light source that has a cool tone
* Use a low ISO
* If available use LiveView for a better guesstimate for White Balanace and overall frame composure
* Be sure to focus on the object at hand and not the back ground
