[LF] A plea to GH for an MX Clack at cost

A whim, a plea, a tale of misfortune. Call it what you will, but I assure you this nothing short of heartbreaking, bordering on the ludicrous and frankly at this point, laughable.

As many of you know my Clack luck is bad to say the least. Perhaps the worst on the entirety of Geekhack, unless one of you can challenge my standing record of despair. I have, and this is in no way an embellishment, lost out on 14, yes 14, Clack sales in the past two years. This combines both EK and 4Grab sales, the most current of which having been the 420 4grabs, the Nightowl(nigh towel?) EK sale, and the just passed Gummyrot EK sale. Save for my very first Clack(mint green) which CC himself was kind enough to dibs me with shortly after joining, I have never paid less than $100 for a clack. These prices are not uncommon in the aftermarket, but I seem to be unlucky there as well having only accumulated 3 skull buddies in that manner.

On top of all this, there's only a short list of clacks I actively search for (milk blue, limoncello, teal, gum purp) and these as many of you know full well are exceedingly rare and my trade thread is quickly approaching it's one year anniversary. Depressing for a myriad of other reasons.

Anywhoo, I'm putting myself out there. I'm making a plea to restore my faith in this bleak and dispiriting quest. I know this community has it's share of poopyheads, but it also has it's share of bighearted and kind individuals and I'm hoping upon hope one of the latter sees this and understands the distress these wonderful little plastic pieces of art can wreak upon a mans soul. I'm looking for a simple gesture of kindness, an extended hand of understanding, someone to be my restorer of faith in this ongoing duration of blind disadvantage.

Taking days off work/missing classes/staying up late and suffering the next day, all for nothing. As a relative newcomer, I started reading your post with the bitterness of someone who also missed out on the Gummyrot draw. But I recognize the sincerity of your plea, and appreciate seeing that the Old Guard of this community looks out for its own. This gives me hope for my own hunt.

The current clack after market and nature of acquiring clacks is why I am tossing up my hands and giving up on them essentially. I don't need an unhealthy obsession with anything in my life so unless something changes or the culture shifts I will take what luck gives with a  smile and shrug off everything else.

this is exactly how i feel. When EK has sales or when there is a 4Grabs, I will still try to get the ones I like at cost, but thats it.

Same here, but instead of giving up on clacks, I'm giving up on GH.

I've met some amazing people here, but GH has become just a selling forums where others take advantage of each other with lessening sense of community or being straight up *******s. I'll just be here to lurk and sell stuff since that's what GH has become to me.
