If he molded Clack's blanks, they're knock-offs.  If he developed them himself, they're originals.  Everything about the stems in the pics screams direct copy to me.

That said, it is neither copyrightable or patentable, so it's not illegal, it's just douchey.

Not really, they will buy the fakes because they cant get real ones, then they will buy real ones because they want real ones. Even if they don't really want real ones they will continue to buy because they want to flip them.

So no, it isn't going to cut down on demand in any way.
