Why can't it be good enough for people that we are a community? As a community why wouldn't be stand up for one of our own members?

I think it's more about you wanting things to remain the same, half the posts I see when I've been here while looking for a board again are about those damn keycaps

I don't think you care if they go for 700 or 200, as long as they have substantial value.

The issue I think most of us have is the blatant ripping off of clickclack's design and the blatant disrespect of this community that k3 showed when he started posting here about his copycaps.

For the sake of discourse:

The issue with the Vader keycaps (aside from K3KC's notoriety up until this point) is that they're exact, 1:1 copies of Clack's design, which admittedly/clearly infringed on the Star Wars copyright.

Users who do support Clack simply don't appreciate how K3 replicated the Vader keycap to where it's indistinguishable from Clack's mold. Legalities aside that's where they stand, and it seems understandable that they would rather support the original maker of that keycap vs. K3 who hasn't contributed original designs & creations to the community.

Also there is the case that artisans like Clack may potentially cease to produce new designs due to fear of imitations in the future. As unlikely as this may be it is another reason why there is the disdain for K3, as it removes some of the incentive for new creations in the future if they can be imitated and re-sold without consequence.

It's a form of fan art, which many industries don't have a problem with. The Star Wars brand isn't trying to corner the market on keycaps, and if they were they and their fan base could take issue with Clack's cap if they so desired.

The CC skull is, in fact, an original design. This is stated by the man himself in his FAQ thread.

I thought it was generally considered that Stalin was responsible for the deaths of more people than Hitler. I may be wrong, then again it is probably subjective in that you could in theory include allied deaths during WWII and raise the number. Alternatively you could include the holocaust and similar only, or any other combination.

Then again Hitler killed himself, I don't think Stalin ever killed anyone in this case Hitler 1-Stalin-0.
