Oh dear. I'd probably buy one of those, so nice.
It's a good width!  If it's half-width it's too narrow, and full-width is too wide.

Never owned an alu board. Would totally buy this one if it weren't for those 5 LED lights above the arrow cluster and the 3 besides the Esc button. A shame, really. Don't know why LED's and backlighting is so popular suddenly. IMO, classy is still the right way with keyboards.

I'd be in if I wasn't already so deep into the TX 1800. I really like 1800 layout over TKL anyways.

Let's see how GH is going to make me poor. Let me count the ways:

1. TX 1800

2. Lightsaver V2 (round 3)

3. Orion V2

4. TX87

5. LZ-SQ

it was said that those LEDs indicate which layout you're using. i don't get why he wouldn't use a single LED and cycle through different colors in that case. the ESC LEDs are more understandable, i think they're a cool take on the standard num-caps-scroll locks, even if they shouldn't be on a TKL in the first place

Out of all those boards the orion will probably cost the most. Not sure if that helps you prioritize though lol.

Talk about instantly knowing you're gonna drop another several hundred bucks on a new keyboard. :)

This Orion V2 is beautiful though.  V1 only slightly pre-dates my time here at Geekhack and I always was sad I missed out.  I hope Elton is ready for this since he seems to do all their GBs. :D

I absolutely love the blockers as part of the case though. So classic.  It seems duck will now have a board to directly compete with some of the OTD boards.

Me too. I've recently acquired an OG Desko set (not the one in the Classifieds), and only looking for a board to put it on. Originally was going to try to put it on an 86 key, and try to get some 1u keys to fill in the middle key, but I think the set would look amazing on an 84 key board.

Yes! I could probably tolerate the acryllic layer between the two case parts but those indicator LEDs on the top housing look terribly out of place. :'( Other than that it comes with everything I want. 84 keys and dark grey / black color. Guess I'll wait for the next one.

Alu, Acrylic bottom housing.
it will include acrylic insert. if you choose alu bottom.

Just saw this on Duck's site: http://duck0113.tistory.com/116
Those inserts are included this time, and seems the GB will be handled by da man Elton, hope it comes soon. so excited.

I don't know a ton about aluminum, but the V2 aluminum looks so smooth compared to the V1, which appears to have a rougher surface.  Or maybe that's just because one is anodized and the other isn't.

On a side note, this is the formula for # of case LEDs:  ( [Keyboard Version Number] * 8 ) + 4

I'm totally fine with the LEDs next to the Esc, but I wish they could engrave a logo like the Kingsaver instead of the LED holes above the arrow keys.

Other than that it could be a unique and beautiful board with the right color LED.

From the hate in this thread I was expecting to click through to giant blaring lights, not tiny little pinpricks that look smaller than the lock indicators on my Code. Wait, what?

Looks sexy, but sadly I consider TKL the worst of all possible worlds for standard keyboard sizes, at least in my usage, so it's an auto-pass.

Or just throw in some SIP sockets and experiment. :P
