Are Jane-CE people going to be able to get in on this or is there going to be a different version?

I'm totally not into numpads, but this would be cool if it had slots for USBs. Like a numpad/usb hub combo.

Personally I like the one on the left since it would compliment the TKL nicely. :)

I believe they will have a shot with all the other people who didn't get Jane R1. I don't think they are reserved a spot though, Yuktsi can say for certain but the updated OP makes it seem that way.

I prefer the top branding but really don't mind between unbranded or branded. Not feeling the full top row at all but I'm sure novelty cap owners would love it.

If we're voting, I'm for more buttons. I have a feeling that I'll use thing as a kbd extension with shortcuts and whatnot rather than just a numpad. I'd put the TGR logo on the bottom (e.g. with a plate). More for connoisseurs :)

Have no need for one, but numpads with a lone Esc key look goofy. The full top row is fantastic, however.

I have a sweet set of caps for a numpad but will I get in on this?  Probably not.

I don't quite understand the $180-200 price point. Why so high?

I think it's fine.  Just a lot of work and design into it.  Materials alone will always make it cost more.

Ahh, like the brass plate and most-likely aluminium case?

This is the only thing - it's high up there for what I would pay, but then again I can't act like there are a lot of Korean numpads.

the material itself doesn't cost much but the machining and handling do.
remember it's a 2 parts case, where the switch plate is mounted to the top half
it's rather tricky as you want to keep them as seamless as possible
would be much much cheaper if the case is only 1 part (like most of the 60% case and numpad out there)

You're paying for machine and setup time, which won't vary a whole lot between a TKL and numpad.  While we as enthusiasts may not "value" numpads as much as a TKL, the machine shop sees a nearly-equal job in terms of machining.  This is obviously over-simplifying things, but the general idea is there.

I think the $200 price range is quite fair or even cheap tbh... I've tried to order a prototype for an aluminum lamp I was working on and the quotes I was given ranged from $400-700... Some shops even charged me just for a quote and some advices  :-[
But that's in the US maybe it's cheaper in Malaysia
In case you're wondering, my lamp was literally just an aluminum rod and a shell, not some crazy fancy design
