got updates. more picture. up up up
Thanks! Gives us a better idea of the colour options.

I'm also interested in half plate.
some people suggest me to do PC plate. i can do that, but moq is 10. so i am not sure if we can get that done :thumb:
I'm also interested in PC plate. 10 people doesn't seem terribly high!

The plates don't support switch opening, right?
no it doesn't support switch opening.  about the PC plate, i'll see what i can do about that. i'll try to lower the moq,but i dont think i can do that.

I think me and alienman82 want a PC plate in addition to the alu plate.

(In a PM it seemed RevoTeam thought I meant that I wanted to replace the Alu with a PC plate)

I would get both plates if it mean the PC will happen.

If it is a 5mm polycarb plate with stabilizer cutouts on the underside I would also be interested in a PC and alum plate. But if its a 1.5mm PC plate that will be pretty flimsy.

5mm polycarb plate would likely need to have some bits CNC'd to 1.5mm, which would probably make that a weak stress point.

Look at how the plate mounts to the middle piece:

Did I read that this was both Winkey and Winkeyless?  It looks like the plate and PCB support both layouts, but all the renders show Winkelyess.  Are the blockers optional in the top case?

Trade off I guess, flimsy plate or plate with weak points... actually dont think I would want a PC plate after you pointing that out.

I think the PC plate should be a 1.5mm~~ (not 5mm) partial plate.  This is to allow for the PCB switch feel while allowing the mods stability.

You cant just have your PCB hanging off a 1.5mm PC plate with an air-gap, especially a partial plate. Its not strong enough.

Theres a reason why WKL and GON have another layer between the 1.5mm plate and the PCB..

I assembled an octagon with just a 1.5mm polycarb full plate.
I agree with the other layer thing though, was planning to make one of those actually.

5mm acrylic/PC plate would be a dream. I have a SPRiT one and the sounds from that board are so much better than those from my boards with metal plates.

Guys, it will be a 1.5mm pc plate. Because it have to be the same thickness with the alu plate. Or just make something in between the plate and pcb.
The cost will be 15 usd. moq still 10.

if it's a 60% i can do 5mm no problem. but 80% have to mounted the plate on the upper case or the lower case(middle case in this keyboard). in that case i cant do 5mm.

Ah darn, black and gold would have looked amazing imo.

It's too hard to choose colors, so many possibilities. I think I'll probably go black and pink, super hyped for the GB. :D

Hm, I might not be able to order then.

Revo can you show a picture of the PCB and where the xh2.54 has to go?
Or do you think a USB connector could still fit in that hole, if I make the PCB myself?

It means you can ALWAYS hook up your keyboard no matter what.

I HATE when a new keyboard design presents itself without a cable attached then tells me I have to spend MORE money to buy it, so that the damn keyboard would work, sux to the extreme.

When I lay down my money I want the keyboard ALL there, ready to be connected to any PC for work.  Also I've seen keyboards with failed usb micro/mini ports, so for all intensive purposes that keyboard becomes dead to everyone unless someone re-solders a brand new usb connector to it  >:( .

For once it's time to finally make a keyboard with a usb cable attached to it, I'm no idiot wireless fanatic and will never be one BUT I want this keyboard with an inbuilt cable ready to be used immediately when it arrives at my address.

It means you can ALWAYS hook up your keyboard no matter what.
it also means you lose the customizability aspect, which sorta goes against the idea of a custom keyboard. so i can understand why it would be a dealbreaker to some

the reason why we  change it to fixed cable is after the test we find out  the mini usb cant fit all the cables. some cable  will  not be working well. it  may caused disconnection sometimes. if we  widen the usb port  it  will be very ulgy...so we give everyone a free  cable. yabro port have to  charge another 10bucks is because the cost of  it is expensive otherwise  we will  be losing  money. its hard to  please everyone but i  am trying here . thanks for every comment. cheers

tbh its not against the custom its  just  harder  to do  it. people  make  great cables for otd keyboards. same case here. anyway you can solder the cable on the pcb as well. just you have fix the cable on the pcb

Also don't forget for some wanting to use their keyboard EVERYWHERE means that they are more prone to having a faulty usb connection involving fitting and removing the cable multiple times.

So you have to decide what will work long term, a removable cable prone to eventual failure or a permanent connection that lasts longer?  Can see why Real Force/Filco and some other manufacturers went with a permanent cable attached due to the same circumstances faced with their usage.

Is the hole for the USB the same size?

If so, I don't really mind the fixed cable. I just want compatibility with other custom PCBs, in case I accidentally mess up the original

not the same. you can buy extra pcb. the pcb wont be  broken easily. even if you broke it somehow i can always repair it for you or  sell you  a new one.
