Sucks.

Still some time yet before I pull the trigger on chargeback. Gonna wait as long as I can.

Could you elaborate? For me personally, I joined this GB because I thought zfrontier was a reputable vendor.

I don't mind waiting a little bit longer, as we've seen the updates and actual photos. But would it be possible to get a new estimated shipping date?

It would be nice to have a meaningful update of any sort, let alone estimated new ship date.

Rapidly losing faith in this buy.

Updates showing progress have been posted on the Grid website https://www.gridishere.com/updates-page/.  The last one was about a month ago.

I hope so, too. Last I heard they were shipping "Between December 2018 and January 2019". Two weeks to go in January; hopefully these go out soon, or we here *something* from the Grid team.

zFrontier has been horrible about communicating with Western buyers. After DSA Starry Night I have a lot less trust in them than before.

I've got a Zeal60 with a frosted polycarbonate plate and MX Zilents that's going on there. Will desolder corner or win switches if I like the blockers enough. Gonna sell the blockers if I don't want/need them.

I reached out to Grid last week and finally got a reply back.. here is what the email said:

Quote
Hi Ryan,

Of course. My bad.
We had some issues with PCB manufacturing. One of our vendors gave us bad MCUs which ruined many of our efforts.

Grid 600 will start shipping Jan 25 for western buyers. I know it is late already and I am super sorry for that. I am preparing an update and a possible compensation plan for people.

Thanks for your support!

Best,
grid

Mekanisk Nerd60 and Brass plate. That PCB might be tough to find but a DZ60 will be super easy to find and pretty cheap too!

Blockers were an add-on.

This is the second best news I've heard this week.

We get blockers?

They were an add-on group buy. https://en.zfrontier.com/products/grid600ac

I got the white HHKB blockers to go with the white case. I imagine they're screwed into the PCB from the bottom. I also picked up a second blank top module for experimentation.

Was reading a post on the Chinese ZFrontier site that the grids have been sent to ZFrontier for distribution.
https://www.zfrontier.com/post/detail/11040

"After some episodes(?), I can happily tell you that the components of the grid600 have been sent to zF. Most of the orders will be issued in the next week or two. I apologize for the delay in delivery due to the late delivery and the arrival of the New Year."
Thanks, Google Translate.

And now we wait on ZFrontier.

I usually don't do this, but damn this turns out incredibly better than I expected for this price range. Anodization is one of the best, build quality is also top notch, on par with my TX and M60 and I'm not exaggerating. The inclusion of silencing foam turns out great. Another great thing is that they add dampening plastic ring underneath each screw. Overall, I'm astounded.  This is THE BEST price to value product this community has ever offered, and yes I know about kbdfans. Their products are wonderful, but this is just better.

Thanks for contacting me.
The shipping of grid600 will begin in 4 days for western buyers if you order black chassis and modules.
The color ones and white chassis will be a little bit late due to manufacturing issues.
Still, we should be able to ship all of them before February.

You can find previous updates here: https://www.gridishere.com/updates-page/

Let me know if you have any questions.

So most likely to ship after CNY.

It was mentioned that there would be, might be a while though as R1 is still trickling through to GB buyers.

EDIT

Seems like there will be a VERY smal number of extras and there is no plan to run an R2:
