Inspired by SONY's HitBit series computers, HB85 is an interesting looking custom mechanical keyboard designed by Gray Studio, the team that brought you the beloved COD67.

DESIGN AND LAYOUT
Perhaps one of the most iconic feature of the HB85 is it's oddly intriguing design. The mid-piece design not only pays homage to the HitBit computers but also enable more color combinations and creates profound visual impact.












The mid-piece will also come in 3 variants, each enabling different layouts: STT, BASIC, and  AOP.




7 different anodized colors will be available for the HB85

Colors available: Black, Gray, Silver, Blue, Green, Violet, Red
Housing and aluminum plate will share the same color
Mid-piece and aluminum nametag will share the same color

Black, silver and grey can reference from sample photo.

PLATE
HB85 will come with an aluminum plate. The plate will be of the same color as the housing and you could choose from half plate or full plate.

Extra plates will also be available.

This looks terrific! Does the PCB support per switch LEDs? Also, what is the height of the front lip of the board? I love the design but I'm worried it could be tiresome on long typing sessions.

Indeed, each switch has a separate led.

Ok, I'll check it out for you. But rest assured, because I've optimized a lot of the internal structure, so the HB85 isn't heavy. I've just weighed, all aluminum kit weighs 1.98kg;If you change the carbon plate it's a 1.93kg, plus the packing no more than 2.5kg.

To be honest, match the KAM Wraith, I think dark and plain collocation are better than other colours.

Half plate is intended to let the center plateless section's switches to flex more (the Alphas) as they rely solely on the PCB for support, giving a feel that many find preferable.

thanks for the reply, i've never seen this before, so you build the outer edges plate mounting the switches but the middle section with pcb mounting the switches.   and the heights stay the same?  wow very interesting, learn something new every day!
