I don't care so much whether or not you're taking your time with this group buy; that just means the final product won't be sloppy and rushed.  It's like Valve time: once I experience the final product, I'm actually grateful for all the delays to make sure it's of the highest quality.

Tsangan (the person that's organizing this group buy) is a reputable member so you have nothing to worry about.  The only thing we all have to worry is SP's QC and their timeframe.

The best way sometimes, to get the most up to date info is just reading through the thread. He is basically just waiting for SP to send in the corrected keycaps. Once he received those, he will be shipping out the sets.

While I completely agree with this, most folks that run group buys must get inundated with PMs and posts. I am guessing since I have never run one before, but I will sometime. That said, if the organizer would simply post a weekly update in the OP everyone would be happier, including the organizer since he would save himself all the PMs and emails. I am involved in a few group buys where there has been no update for weeks, It's ridiculous, simply rude and just bad business.

For instance, in one, the last time the OP was updated was 5/25 and the last response in the thread from the organizer was 5/30. That seems unacceptable to me.

Shows up with some picture, people asks him some photo with the keyboard but no reply and then suddenly he goes to vacation. Of course having other forum members showing the keys received made thing more at ease.

Please bear in mind with my comment I mentioned no name and was not talking about this GB. Even where I was, I TRULY appreciate the efforts put in, but like was stated above, a simple single sentence would suffice.

If I provide an estimated time when the replacements will be here and they aren't then I get a bijillion PM's asking for pics and when I'm shipping the keys. So why post something I cannot guarantee.

For anyone that's participating in the GB I thought would know when I have an update the thread gets an update.

To summarize, you wish me to post an update for something I don't know in a small sentence so everyone can know that it's STILL not here yet and there's nothing I can do on a day to day basis. Well, sadly no that's not going to happen. Sorry to disappoint though.

and yes, tsangan is a man among men. if SP had given him a nugget of info he would have passed it on to us.

otoh we all understand how hard it is to be patient when the pieces of plastic we're waiting on are so damn cool. otoh, we still have to be patient. we can't manufacture these ourselves, so we have to abide by the manufacturer's production schedule.
