I will be getting the 3 after NikoGasm and because I don't have much time, when my cakes are released, 3 of the orders will also contain a mystery keycap!

Wow, I think I would have done a better service to the community if I just smashed them all with a hammer.

Look dude, I was gonna do it my way and everyone got mad. So I decided to do it your way but it doesn't seem like that's the proper solution either. I don't know how to win. :|

He's talking about how Alessandro is sending it to three of his customers which is clearly unfair.  He's not talking about you.

I was getting really frustrated, haha. But that makes a lot of sense, I just derped and misinterpreted. Thanks for clearing that up.

Alright! Jeez! Someone just tell me what to do with the damn things when I get them, this mystery crap does get annoying when people start whining.

So who wants one?

Edit: Don't bother sending them to me Niko if you haven't already, I can't find the time to send 3 back to various places in the US, that's why I was going to include them with orders.

You honestly think that's fair?

The reason why people don't think is fair is this. So far it seems like these keycaps are random and now in order to get these next 3 one MUST have to have purchased something from YOU

This either A. promotes your own product, forces someone to buy one of your keys if they want a chance to get this key or B. theres no way they can get one since they have to purchase one of your keys.

I completely understand the lack of time, but if you have time to ship out other items I don't think 3 additional package should be that troublesome.

People aren't whining they just see the flaw in your method that's all

Upon thinking, no, not really. Of course not infact!

And that is probably why I've now posted not to send them to me because I wouldn't have the time otherwise. Make of it what you will.

I really just hope that Niko has read this before he shipped them. I didn't think me saying that would make such an uproar. I apologise for that, and if they are on the way too me, they may just be with me a bit longer until I find the time to get them to someone who wants them. Is that fair?

Does it matter if it doesn't end up with someone that owns a blue cap as well?  JD made a good point earlier about how this originally had absolutely zero transparency and flowed fine and now that people are saying where the caps are going, the storm waters are a risin'.

Alessandro, I have not even received mine yet, haha. But if you're not comfortable taking on the caps then that's fine, I'm sure there are plenty of others who wouldn't mind it at all.

I feel bad for making this such a fiasco. These are supposed to be a fun little deal, but the second series has just become drama.
If Alessandro does not want to take the three caps on then I'm going to silently1 send them to someone within this thread that did not receive the first cap.

1 I'm not going to publicly announce who will get it. I'd like for this to just continue on without any more disturbances. Simply get your keys and pass them along.

I feel like the recent events here may prevent a third series of mystery caps.

May I also apologise for causing what seems to be an uproar among many others. As much as I would like to have one of these, I'm sure there are others who want it more.

Please do that Niko, that's wonderful. :)

This has echos of the first mystery cap, where it seems that no-one who received one was expecting one, and no-one knew who was going to get one next.

Indeed at this point we do not know how many caps there are in round two.
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Dang, I really like the orange/black one but I'm in Australia, have any mystery caps been sent to Aus at all?

I didn't get a blue one.

It would be nice if a few were sent to someone to distribute in Australia :)
I doubt they'd ever make it here. Nothing good ever does :(

Second one looks much better than the first one, imo. This way of distributing is rather fun, too, it would be more fun though if we knew who’s behind it (the joke is getting old, really), and what the key’s supposed to mean.

I wonder how many there are ultimately going to be.

And whether they will all fit together into some big design.

Possibly not, as the second one is only supposed to be sent to people who did not receive the first one.
