I got my new knife. If you are looking for a petite pocket knife to use as a tool, I can't recommend this one enough. This is the Kershaw Cryo 1. It isn't too small and it isn't too big and great for unboxing or EDC. It can probably be used for defense but I would go bigger for that. Personally, I carry one to use as a tool for when something calls for a reliable blade.
The blade has no play at all and it has Kershaw's signature assisted opening called "SpeedSafe". It opens smooth and extremely fast. It has a little groove for your middle finger which makes using your index finger for the assisted opening mechanism very comfortable, reliable, sturdy and efficient.
Overall it is a bit heavy, especially for it's size. But that is because it is made completely of stainless steel with Kershaw's signature titanium plating. The design is beautiful. It has a medium grey finish with black accents including the screws. The lanyard portion is actually a black tube that adds to the design nicely while displaying a pleasant attention to detail. The clip is an "invisible clip" and can also be reversed so it is in your pocket blade down. It stays well hidden in the pocket and looks like a pen so you don't have to worry about people looking at you funny because you carry a knife.
And now for some pic:

Nice looking knife, and at a great price point. You've convinced me that I need one
Yeah, you can't beat the price. Kershaw is known for making amazing assisted action knives at all price points. Their customer service is also excellent along with their QC which would explain why their Chinese manufactured (the budget ones) still function at Kershaw standard.
Any knife forum will tell you the same. If you want a budget assisted blade, Kershaw will be recommended more than once. I am not a collector or anything, but if I am going to have a knife, I'd like it to be one a collector wouldn't mind having.
Amazon has them in stock. However, keep in mind that the Cryo 1 is the one I have as the Cryo 2 is it's bigger brother. The Cryo 2 is a bit big in my opinion (accidentally ordered it and had to return it) where as the Cryo 1 is just the right size for a tool. It is not small by any standard, but not big.
Enjoy man and be warned. Once you get it you won't stop playing with the SpeedSafe.
