Just got more mail.

Got that massdrop bottle cutter cup maker thing

Edit:
Also a postal scale

That bottle thing is pretty neat. How well does it work?
Do you think you'd be able to cut a square bottle like a Makers Mark bottle? I've amassed a collection of those.

I'll have to try it soon. Hopefully this weekend :)

Sadly wouldn't work on square bottles at cording to their site:
Quote from: Kinkajou
Have you had any luck cutting square bottles?

Unfortunately this version of the Kinkajou can only cut round bottles. I have some ideas on creating a cutter that cuts other shapes but this is currently not available.

It's so pretty!

Edit: Since the keycap made me happy, it is only fair that other mail brought me back down. I also got a letter from OPM about their recent data breach stating that my information (to include SSN, finger prints, educational history, address, date of birth, and MORE) was included in the intrusion. Got to love government run background checks...

Very cool cap. So sorry about your personal data. Its hard to believe, but security is still pretty much an afterthought in a lot of places online.

Booper made a few of each variation, I know because there are others with the same as the three I have.

Are those monterey?

Definitely not.  Two posts plus the pound sign look to them (the tabs on the sides of the stem) means they're Alps.  There are similar looking clones, but those are Blue Alps.  Monterey Blues are also a lighter color, closer to Clack's mint gum caps while Blue Alps are a darker color.

So, how is it?? Give us the deets!  :p

I like it!  It is a little hard to tell right now how light it actually is because my hands are freezing (damn canada).  I noticed that I was actuating some of the keys just by resting my fingers on the keyboard initially, but I think I have already gotten used to that (about 10 min on the board so far).  It is pretty much exactly what I was looking for regarding weight.  I like really light switches, so these are pretty interesting so far.  Looking forward to putting some real time on these.  The only negative thing I have found so far with this board is that the spacebar feels very 'gougy'.  I think the way I rest my hands does not agree with this spacebar.  I end up putting my thumb right on the edge of the spacebar.  I may actually try a flipped spacebar (uggg, really?), but we will see.  Maybe I will just get used to it or I will find a different position for my thumb.

All in all, I am happy.  The seller even included an extra spacebar spring so I can put my Stainless Steel BBv2 on this board and not have to worry about it actuating the switch.  :)

Edit: about to do a bit of gaming, so the true test is happening...  :)

Nice! Keep me updated, I am interested in what you have to say about it. I used to own a vintage topre board with hipro caps and 35g domes, which I didn't like the feel of, but I think a lot of that could have been attributed to the hipro caps and the keyboard itself. Would be interested in trying a 35g realforce..

Fuuuuu....

Every artisan should do a Booper-Bowie-themed limited edition artisan. It will be the bonus single cap like in this sale, or auctioned for charity.

Was hoping it's monterey, been looking for a friend who wanna hardwired monterey to exchange ideas

Since mine is still on hold

Ive hardwired an old apple with Salmon alps feel free to pm me, why does it matter if its not Monterey?
Somehow the pins location are different, and I just want to find an apple to Apple reference since I don't want to make any mistakes, cos I love the switch so much :)

Will pm you once I got home tomorrow

Extremely atmospheric photo! :)
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada
