For the older DSA caps with really tight stems, could you make it looser by warming it up with a hairdryer and then while its soft put it on a switch and let it cool to a bigger size?

I'm gonna say no.

Plastic shrinks as it cools, so I'd even go as far to say it could make it worse.

Is making your own EVA/Nylon molded keyboard carrying case possible, or does this process need expensive machinery.

I think you could do it. Buy some codura cloth. Put sandwich cardboard or a heavy cardstock between it. Then form a case. Sew on a zipper. Done. My sister made me a case and it wasn't *too* bad.

I live in the US. Whats the fastest and most affordable way to get a poker 2? I was going to go with Qtan but wondering if there is a better option.

I see mechanicalkeyboards.com has them too but I don't want backlighting, just MX brown or red.

Also is there anywhere that sells the cherry GMK sets like originative used to sell? White and Beige?

Most people I know of got them from qtan.

It looks like kbdmod.com sells them, but they're out of stock and you'd probably need a Korean proxy. I don't know of any other stores that have them regularly in stock.

My 3700 is giving me a lot of trouble and is pretty uneven

when I press on the right side, it makes a noise and wobbles, but the left side (top and bottom) are both ok. its just the top right side

extremely aggravating, not sure what to do really. opened it up and everything is ok inside with the PCB placement and whatnot

heres what the back looks like (everythings ok)

Not a valid vimeo URL
heres a video (ready soon) of what it looks like

should i try and weight one side? :////////

Yeah don't want backlighting. How about a cheap brown QFR. Newegg is sold out. Missed it.

The backlit Pokers have ABS instead of PBT, so I think that's the issue.

60% is a hard layout to get used to for a lot of people. I don't blame you.

Personally, I recommend Filco as a brand. The stock keycaps are kinda crummy, I grant you, but they'll last long enough for you to get a nice thick PBT set.

Nothing wrong with QFR (or QFS), plus they re cheaper than Filco and will leave you more money afterwards for a good PBT set (he said, typing on his QFS with PBT dyesub set).

So, stupid question time!

I got my gf a A87ps2avr. I plugged it using a mini usb to usb cable and the leds worked out fine, but I can't type it. Can someone enlighten me? Do I need a miniusb to ps2 cable? How do I configure this thing?

tks!

Thanks, I do prefer filco. Had a few, but at almost twice the price I'm not sure its worth it. Just picked up another QFR. Wish I could find a nice set of Cherry beige DS's.

It's a simple converter that converts a USB cable into a ps/2 cable without ever needing a ps/2 cable, if that makes sense. Basically, it lets you use a USB cable as a ps/2 cable.

There are diagrams of Alps switches with measurements here:

Edit: Sorry, that was for Matias, but supposed to be the same as Alps?

Anyone know switch hole dimensions for an Alps switch?

There are diagrams of Alps switches with measurements here:

http://deskthority.net/workshop-f7/deskthority-alps-keyboard-project-t4651.html

Edit: Sorry, that was for Matias, but supposed to be the same as Alps?

Awesome, thanks Rowdy.

How many GB's have there been with the cherry replicas? Just the orange ones and toxic?

Is there a classic cherry in the works? (White/beige)

I guess everyone is tired of those?

I would love to get a classic Beige/White with cherry legends. I wouldn't mind it being DCS if it were PBT.

Oh the beautiful raindrop, didn't realize they were cherry. I've been away too long.

EDIT** Just glanced at some pics in the raindrop GB those look like standard SP WYSE font.

Raindrop R2 is currently in production. It is a CtrlAlt GB. And it uses Cherry replica legends.

Anyone wishing upon a star for a full set of double shot PBT caps can just keep right on dreaming. We have already been told by SP that the shrinkage rate problem makes it near impossible to do a full set of DS from PBT. And if they were somehow able to do it, it would be so cost prohibitive that no one could buy them.

Best bet for classic Cherry beige is to wait for someone to run a GB for them through GMK. The reason to keep doing sets from SP is that they can do colors and legends that GMK just can't/won't. But if it's a true replica set, of existing colors that GMK has, there's no reason not to go the GMK route.

I believe Bunnylake has said that Toxic will be the last CtrlAlt GB with SP for a while. I think he has plans to do some cool stuff with GMK. And perhaps some classic replicas are in those plans. We shall see. :)

Aw that sucks. My march GH key looks and feels sweet, but I do see how shrinkage will be a major issue...stem is a bit tight

I was talking a about a classic beige/white dye-sub DCS set, but yes I can't wait for Bunny to start the GMK group buys :)

Has anyone installed LED's in a WASD V2? Thinking about adding some flare to the board, if there is a guide or something I missed, I apologize, I only did a brief search and didn't find anything specific on this board.

If the PCB supports LED's already (I don't know about this), it should be as simple as soldering them in. You can find information about polarity in the OP of this thread, and Photoelectric has a nice mini-review and description of various LED types.

AFAIK the WASD V2 doesn't have LED support on the PCB.
