anddd there goes my wallet.

Don't worry the final payment date is April 5th (if I'm correct?).

If you can't foot the bill straight away then save up from your payday "twice" and you should have more than enough  ;) .

Hopefully not, that date is already gone :>

Sorry Bud, my stupid mistake - that's what happens when you're drinking and not paying attention.  I suspect it'll be May 8th deadline for all payments but tjcaustin needs to confirm or deny this.......  ::)

May 11th because I got started late, but yeah.

5/11 is the deadline for payment?
But I didn't receive any invoice of my ordered CCnG till now. ~_~

That's because I'm not finished with invoices and that's why I'm taking payments for a full month

You can pay from a bank account through paypal and save money, too.

I don't get this. What does it change? You can "load" money onto paypal and pay from this. Or you could directly pay via paypal and then paypal charges your real bank account, but as far as I know both methods have the same fees.

Can anybody elaborate on that please?

If you use a credit/debit card, there is an additional processing fee (from CC processor).  If you pay from a bank account/paypal balance, that fee doesn't happen as the transaction doesn't go through a third party.

Ah ok, I don't even have a credit card. We ISO people mostly don't have one.

I guess it's more common in 'Merica ;)

Using a bank account saves money from fees, but you have to accept the abusive dollar-euro conversion made by Paypal. On the other hand, you can choose to use your credit/debit card and let your bank make a more convenient conversion. Depending on the amount and fees, one way or another may be the best one.

Some people might not like getting billed for something they didn't order. I'd rather you guys show an example of what they are and make it an option.

Sure, you're right. But on the other hand everybody saw the invoice and could have ask TJ to remove it. I didn't mind. Might be a nice surprise from their side :)

This is quite common in a GB to give everyone a GH Key. So it is on the receipe as a unquie position but otherwise he could have made it mandatory on the basesets anyway.

It's not a mysterious key, but rather a set of keycaps for the GB organizer.

It's fairly common in community group buys for the organizer to pad the invoice by a small amount, so that the organizer gets a set of keycaps for free, paid for by the participants, for the effort of organizing the GB.

I wouldn't think even the thriftiest of us would have a problem with providing that for Gupgup.

I read that wrong, ignore me.

But you should try to work out something else. A bubble mailer from the US to here is more like $10.

It'll be right around $10. I'll get a new inv to you Note:  The reason I'm doing this is because his order is 13 keys.  If you got anything that includes a base kit, this isn't an option (he's the only one that did not get one)

Paid invoice using Trident Layers gum.

Geez, finally.  I've been waiting for this day my whole life.

Just wondering, which address matters, the one I submitted with the form or the one I make paypal payment with?

I guess I shouldn't expect to get those keycaps before September, should I? Can't wait to get my first double shot set XD.

If they don't match, I'll go with the one you entered on the form.

I'll pay the invoice the monday after May 11 and it could be up to 8 weeks before I have the keys in my hands, so Augustish seems fair.

It's not a key, it's a small consideration for gupgup's time.

Hmm.. $2 doesn't sound much for an individual.. but considering there are about 145 orders now, u guys will get approx. $290 each for arranging this.
I've seen guys get a free set or two for running a GB..but isn't this a bit too much? Don't get me wrong; I appreciate everything that you guys are doing here.
Just a bit worried that folks will start thinking this is a worthwhile side-job to do. How about we limit it to roughly two full sets (~$150) per person? (just throwing it out there to trigger a discussion. where are our moderators? lol) So, in the case of this GB, it would end up being something more like $1 for each order. But extra gifts should always be encouraged.

considering how much time these guys put into

- setting this GB up
- keeping us up to date in this thread
- answering the same questions over and over again
- replying to PMs and changing orders
- send out invoices and collect money
- sorting keys
- and so on and so on

I think 2$ per order is more than a fair price for all these efforts.

And I don't think managing group buys is a worth wile side-job. TJ and Gupgup would be better off, if they worked the same hours at McDonalds. They do it because they have a passion for keyboards and not for profit...

Don't forget: Without them we won't have these awesome sets at all!

Maybe you should volounteer to lead the next GB if you think 2$ is too much ;)

I don't want the GH keys.. nor the gupgup key lol
Any chance of removing those?

It's not a key, it's a small consideration for gupgup's time.

GH key removed.

Hmm.. ok, point well taken. I was actually hoping for a response like that.
I personally have no issue whatsoever in spending $2 as a gift of gratitude. I'm a thrifty person, but not by that much. lol

Ok, I don't want to brag about anything, but I gotta defend myself, right? I've actually led plenty of GBs already. It's not like I don't know what it takes to manage a GB. I can deliberately explain on what you have mentioned there as "and so on and so on".
Had managed a GB with 820 sets before (guess which?), some other GBs with 180, 120 sets, etc. Oh, and currently working on a 300 set GB with 200 add-on kits.
Also participated in several sorting events.
Ofc, it is not easy to handle a large GB; it can actually give u a huge headache from time to time if there are quality issues or if u are dealing with extremely picky ppl. Much responsibility comes with it. It's even more difficult if u are doing it while having a hectic job like I do. Like u said, the passion for keyboards and keycaps just drives u to do it.

Ok, so maybe I went too far with the "side job" comment, but I'm just saying if we don't put a limit to this, it could become problematic later.
I mean, what would be the limit for this "fair price"? So, if I had put $2 on that 820 set order (say roughly 300~400 orders), would it be totally fine for me to keep $600~800 for myself? Can somebody ask for $3 per order or even $5 for his work?

No intentions at all to threadcrap or ruin the work going on here. $2 each ($4 total) it is if everybody is cool with it.
Just trying to see what others think about this matter.  If I'm the only one who's acting like a cheapskate here, then I'm ready to let it go and just go with the flow. lol
