For what it's worth, USPS always quotes me a big window for flat rate box delivery too, but seems like they always come within a few days.  (in Austin)

Techkeys usually gets their orders first for some reason. At least that was the case with the Raindrop group buy, but boiler waited till everyone received their caps before he started selling them on his site for that group buy.

The difference of time between the GB and the Techkeys order delivery should less than a few days.

Now I do understand that you lose money to people "pre" selling their caps cause you have waited to post them in the past. I can sympathize with that, but I do feel the least you could do was fill everyone else in! If you would have jumped on here and told everyone you had the caps and planned post them as long as it wouldn't cause a problem with members. I could completely understand that, but instead you posted them and didn't say a word (as far as I know, could be putting my foot in my mouth). Which makes me feel like you knew it would be a problem and just did it anyway...

I too felt a bit miffed that TechKeys.us already had them for sale and ours haven't been sorted yet. I don't know why though, other than I'm not first?  It's weird, but I did feel slighted. Then I took a look at the price and that made me smile.

TechKeys is a vendor and I don't think anyone can slight a vendor for making a profit. Because, it's thanks to !3oilermaker and other vendors that we were able to reach the price points we did. If TechKeys is successful in selling these sets, which I have no doubt they will be, then it will encourage them to participate in other key cap group buys. Ergo, if vendors participate in Group Buys, then this will drive down the cost of key cap sets and we'll continue to get great pricing.  I, for one, am all for that.

And for those that chose not to participate, or missed the group buy and choose to buy the sets from TechKeys, good for them! They may receive their sets before I do, but they paid almost triple the price for the privilege.

I don't care at all when he starts selling them ... it doesn't change anything for me, 'cause I allready ordered my keys and I will get them as soon as TJ finds the time to sort and ship them.

Actually seeing the retail price on techkeys makes me even happier I got them for the group buy price and after all i3oilermaker helped us reach better prices with his order.

Thank you Mashby for the clear explanation on why being in Group Buys really will pay dividends.  The ONLY reason to be in Group Buys is to get the absolute lowest price out there for a brand new key-set.

What I still don't understand here is why some people think it matter's that getting their key-set before anyone else, seems to be the MOST important thing in their lives.  What gives?  Please explain why that is so important to you?

Sherry is selling full 110 key set that's made by GMK for $95. He's buying a huge quantity (I think 400 sets) instead of piggy backing off a GB and selling them cheaper (it's a preference thing, but IMO GMK caps are better than SP caps in quality). I also remember people *****ing about the $130 price that sherry was asking at first.

I also think it's interesting how it's ok for vendors to piggy back off of GB MoQs, but it's not ok for GBs to piggy back off of vendor MoQs (the whole BSP set situation)

That is very interesting, but I don't think the BSP situation is exactly comparable to vendors participating in GB's. without dragging that whole other issue in, I would say that it is different because !3oiler buying many sets lowers the price for others, is more transparent, and the MOQ for the SP set did not require lots of money upfront to reach due to the large number of people already participating.

That is definitely a good point though Beast, and I think it keeps things in perspective.

I don't mind when it comes but I do find it odd someone having a go at a retailer for selling the sets while at the same time pre selling theirs when they don't even have it in hand.

Perhaps I am missing something but while wallet draining and very addictive, I don't think a keyset is a life essential and waiting a little while for someone to send something out, which they do in their own time without making any profit, with real efficiency (I've had worse experiences from shops than I have from GBs here!) seems to be part of a group buy. I am new and can work that out.

You got me all wrong guy... Now I was bummed out about the techkeys deal (see above post), but about 2 minutes later... I could really careless about it.

Now I have never had anything negative to say about how someone has run a GB. I have thanked everyone and never had ill feelings until this. It didn't even have anything to do with TJ. I think very highly of that guy. I was truly bummed about how !3oiler went about selling them, but like I said! Could really careless now. Everything works out better for him selling them first. It helps keep techkeys alive and kicking. I can't be upset about that!

Now as far as your marathon of words... If you really think you can peg someone from a couple hundred forum post, most them being "oh! do want" or exclamation points. Then maybe I should be feeling sorry for you?
