Got my HHKB today too and now I want like eleven of these things  :)) They are like nothing I've ever typed on before and I never really understood the snap back that people have mentioned about topre until today. I still have to get through a couple of days of dealing with the backspace button, but it's otherwise an intuitive feel for me. #cantgoback lol

I feel your backspace pain. Ctrl is proving more difficult for me to adjust to, but I know it'll be worth it. #onewiththecuprubber

I've been thoroughly enjoying my oneness with cup rubber.

One issue is bothering me though. My HHKB never wants to register when I boot my rig. It does nothing until I unplug and plug it back in once or twice. Has anyone else had this problem? If so, any way to fix it? I haven't had this happen with any of my other boards.

Boards:
Silver 84-key KMAC LE, 62g lubed & stickered ergo-clears, GON NerD PCB, polycarbonate plate,MX lock/Phosphorglow IBM Model M SSK 1391472/White HHKB Pro 2, Hasu controller/WKL Phantom, 50g vintage blacks, MX lock

Haha one day! Hopefully soon! The control is actually not too much trouble for me. It's the daggone backspace because I have miniature hands and I type wrong. So my poor pinky finger is forced to deal with typing properly. Otherwise, if I use my ring finger, I overshoot it and end up pressing the tilde key and then it's just a mess. But perks of the hhkb is that my miniature hands look like they belong there lol
So fancy!

My pinkys have gotten more typing action in one day than they have had their entire lives LOL Needless to say they're already sore, but hey no pain no gain.

Happens to me as well. I start to learn to use pinkies now cause of the HHKB. I would always use my ring finger before to do the left shift and the ctrl on the left side forces me to use my left pinkie now.

Also learned to use right pinkie for the " key and enter. So it's all for the better :)

Toxic really suits the black case!
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

I have 2 HHKB Pro 2
Absolutely love them.
Just upgraded one of them with hasu's alt controller, wondering what mod i should do next?
I love the sound of them, so not sure I can be bothered with silencing them, but may try the dental band method.
What realforce keyboard would people recommend if I wanted to buy a 55g Topre model to test it out?

The 10th Anniversary Edition 55g one :)

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

I've been thoroughly enjoying my oneness with cup rubber.

One issue is bothering me though. My HHKB never wants to register when I boot my rig. It does nothing until I unplug and plug it back in once or twice. Has anyone else had this problem? If so, any way to fix it? I haven't had this happen with any of my other boards.

Are you on Windows 10?  This happens to me with my 87U.

I am indeed on Windows 10. It boots fine with my laptop running Windows 10 though - it's weird.

I might have better results with Hasu's controller if I ever figure out how to get a .hex made, I've given up for now.  :))

What's worked for me is plugging the keyboard into the USB hub of my monitor. It was initially plugged directly into the desktop.  Since then, I haven't had any issues.

This is under Windows 10, using Cygwin.. and eventually Flip, if I ever get the hex file made.  I'm probably just doing something silly though, I don't have much knowledge of bash commands outside of cd and ls commands.  :))

I used, and loved, greens for about a year before going to 67g Zealios for about a month before getting my HHKB. I am happy here and find myself using the HHKB the most... It's different than light Cherry switches (I hated reds) in a good way.

Syntax errors maybe? But all I did was take the HHKB layout Hasu provided and changed a few scancodes.  :blank:

I traded my black HHKB for a white one that is lubed. It feels so good. I just need a black artisan to finish it off.

Very nice. Perfect shade of blue, IMO.

It's too bad those caps and the Realforce anniversary edition are so expensive.

I love that shade of blue too, especially in combination with black

Got the white printed caps today and I immediately traded it in for the black ones. The black ones are great and look awesome, but I am aiming for the symmetry and think I've got it!

So fancy!

I'm liking this white alphas with black modifier more each day.

Maybe I should do it as well... getting bored with my HHKB setup these days.

It does look pretty sweet in person. I really like the black on charcoal color scheme but I much prefer having the printed keycaps instead; they look really good to me. There are a few places selling their keycaps for fairly decent prices, so you might be able to nab yourself a set in the coming days. I think you should go for it if you have the extra funds. I'm really loving mine.

I don't need to buy anymore as I've got all the 4 sets (white, white blank, black, blank black) with me right now :D

Just have to mix and match.

LOL Well then what are you waiting for?!?! I was thinking of mixing and matching onto the keyboard itself with like different patterns and stuff. Like alternate black and white keycaps by lines and all that but for now I like the look of the setup I have. So I think you should just go for it and show us!
So fancy!

Yes, expensive. Especially it needs two set of anniversary edition keycaps to complete the HHKB layout.

I will be purchasing one of these soon. Hopefully I hate it because I have already invested too much money into cherry boards.
demik will never leave.
