Sounds like a few bad eggs are ruining it for the lurkers who are legitimately part of the community but not big on socializing. Some don't want to talk, but still support buys and artisans just the same as those with tons of posts. I don't have a good alternative solution, just noting that this is going to exclude some good people.

Just because you buy something, it doesn't make you part of a community or even a good person.

There's a lot of people on here who post fairly well and are not native english language speakers. There's always translators nonetheless.

Being part of the cummunity and lurker .... for me it's like a good soccer player who never played ... socializing is a very important part, sharing info, helping, having fun with the other members. at least this is how I see it

Learn about the community...

Ask people questions, banter, etc.

Not that hard.

His sales, his rules. If he only wants to sell to people with shaved heads, that would be his prerogative.

I do support the idea though. There was somebody after the last sale with 2 posts complaining they didn't get in.  Lol.

I agree. For me is not about the price, rarity or popularity. It's just how rad they look on my keyboard. I love sitting down at work and smashing out code on my pimped hhkb.

This was a decision I made for more personal reasons. In case you didn't know, I have been putting in way too many hours trying to 'make everyone happy'.
Unfortunately, that was making my family unhappy. I was putting myself in the position I never wanted to be in, in the first place; mass marketing. I am not
a corporation, and I am not looking to mass produce anything.

I have been listening to the complaints of 'he doesn't produce enough', and trying to make those people happy. But who are those people I am trying to please?
People who really don't care where the trinket they stick on their keyboard comes from. People that support a talent-less hack/thief with no regard for the original
artist, because he is 'filling a void'? I am not saying those kinds of people don't exist on geekhack, as well, but it's much easier to know who is who here, as it's a
much more tightly-knit community.

I do this because I like this community, and I like sharing my work with people who appreciate where it came from, the thought and time/effort put into creating
the work. There are a lot of good people on reddit, and those people have also found a home here. I am not 'forcing people to socialize', but really 100 posts are
nothing if you contribute here and there, and participate in conversations. It's not like you are sitting in a room with people staring at you, you are at home, cozy
in your boxer shorts (or naked, who knows), so you are comfortable. There is nothing to be scurred of.

So I am sorry if this rubs some people the wrong way, but at least you get an idea of 'why'.

I like how you assume I'm leeching from the community. Bullying people doesn't make them want to be part of a "community". Trying to run people off isn't helping grow or do anything good for geekhack. I've tried to make thoughtful posts rather than spam garbage everywhere. I've been more active in the Destiny support area than I have anywhere else. I'm not here to steal anyone's caps or step on toes. I'll share my opinion (and hopefully I don't get shut down), but being relatively new to the artisan game, I've seen a lot of drama and hate towards different communities (don't know why, and afraid to ask). The communities seem to bash on each other a lot and each is very close knit (not welcoming to many people & people in the other community).

This is the main reason why I've only lurked in the past.

I totally understand where you are coming from and part of it is the scalpers who buy a cap and flip it instantly for 200 bucks, but what about those of us who genuinely want to get into the game? I for one have only shelled money out for artisans to grow my collection and have ever only sold 1 cap, at a loss to someone.

As a relatively new user, this makes me sad :(

As a relatively new user, let me tell you it's not too hard to get to 100 posts just by browsing around and contributing to conversation/offering your opinion!

Just here to learn about a new hobby that posts like yours make less fun.

TL;DR

My lord, what a ****

Take it elsewhere. That **** doesn't belong in this thread, or this forum.

100 is fine but every user should make a introductory post, however short, in the New Member part. Thats one for free and if you are lucky someone will ask a question! THATS TWO!

ITT

Reddit users bantering stupid **** for post counts.

You can't tell people to banter then complain about it.

I didn't tell you do **** but to actually participate in a community you are leeching from. Your discussion was off-topic, and oh, guess what? There's a place just for that, Off-Topic. You can talk to people, on topic, while still being an idiot. Don't try and blame your ****posting on me. Besides I see you are already on your 10th post today, keep up the good work. You'll be getting Bro caps in no time at all.
You might have forgotten this, but it's very intimidating to suddenly join a community like this one, especially when 90% of the people on here already know way more about everything than you, and they already are all friends with eachother. You try to squeeze into any conversation you can to try to fit in. Sure, there will be redditors ****posting to get their way up to that 100 post count, but that doesn't mean you can bully and discriminate against anyone with a post count under 100. You see anyone with a high post count post something off topic in a thread like this and no one bats an eye, yet when you see someone with a low post count, you label them as a leecher only posting to get a brocap. I don't think that's right. As a member of this community I think everyone should be hospitable and welcoming to those who are new, as everyone here started out as a nobody on this forum.
Oh, and TL;DR for you? Chill.

I prefer GH over r/MK for a lot of reasons but at least people don't fight like this on r/MK :(

None of the elitist bull**** on Reddit either. I'll stick to my "noob" status as an r/mk user. Geekhack is awesome, it really is and I love posting over on the media page and I've bought and sold stuff to a couple of users here, but when it comes to things like this the redditors who prefer posting on a different site and don't really enjoy a forum are bashed and it separates the communities even more. Both sites are literally about mechanical keyboards. But be damned if ripster isn't brought up here in a bad sense along with the subreddit users, just like I hate when ripster brings up "geekwhack". I'd love to own a bro one day, but this is just another hurdle people have to jump to get the slight chance at owning one.
