can I just say something, not to ask more of you or put more work on the table for you bro, but what about making just certain sales require the post limit and others not? Although I see that might be even worse as well, my own opinion would be rather than have a post limit make it a joined before limit such as classifieds is that way there are no crap posts and you still need to have a bit of time with the community? anyway I have voted ^~^

I voted for "**** you, I hate you".  I'm a little disappointed there are only three of us so far.  :(

Also, I know what other troublemakers voted for that option.  >:D :))

Hey bro, I support you fully to make your sales specific to whatever audience you feel deserves it the most. That said, I thank you sincerely for the Rustler I was able to snag off of you in the last sale. I don't think I will be more active on GH and it saddens me that I won't take part in other sales if this requirement goes through, but don't be afraid to set the standard you feel is important. I will try to post more here if I can, but reddit is my typical domain. You do amazing work and I hope to be able to participate in sales in the future.

Regarding the poll, I don't think hosting it on GH is entirely fair. I'd imagine the results would be much different if members of other communities could cast their vote. In the end I voted for 100 post count requirement anyway, but I'm probably biased considering the circumstances.

Thanks for the kind words, I do appreciate it.

It's crazy when I look back at the events of the past couple days. By making a singular decision to keep my sales open to a smaller audience, the amount of hateful comments, threads, pm's was incredible.

It's funny when you consider what it's all about, in a small niche, for some art that I try to provide. How people can get so angry over it is just beyond me. What I see is people making these hateful statements
when they aren't even really involved in any of this. They just jump on that bandwagon, and join the hate train. It makes me feel even better about my decision, honestly. Because the majority of this is coming
from places that aren't geekhack. I have my share of haters here, and that's fine, but at least here, people have some sense of decency (for the most part) about it. They meter themselves because it's not totally
anonymous. You have a reputation here, and there are actual consequences for being a ****.

I am really sorry to everyone for the way this played out, as it was truly unexpected. I don't have a lot of time to dedicate to this, as I would like, so I do what I can when I can. I think I had delusions of grandeur
in thinking I could meet the demand. But the truth is, not even close. At that point I would cease to be an 'artisan', and become a manufacturer. That isn't something I want at all. If it came down to that, it's not
a hobby anymore, but a job.

I am realllllly blown away by how ****ty people can be, but hey, it's not really a matter of this place, or that place. It's mostly about internet anonymity, and that there is no real life recourse for being ****ty on the
internet. It's just some places are a bit better about it than others. And to me, it's definitely less ****ty here. I have no hate at all for reddit as whole, but I don't really care for the atmosphere or the terrible UI. It's
just not usable to me, personally.

Anyhow tl;dr - whatever the vote ends up, is exactly what it will be. And thanks for your continued support <3

i didn't even know two users could have the same username.  is the fake one using some weird unicode characters or something?

I think so if you'll notice that fake username is really small which means its actually longer than normal.
Wondering if mod or iMav can code something to prevent this from happening. It's kind of dangerous here especially if people do it with intention to scam.

Not really sure whats going on here, don't care and don't have time to find out. Never bought a single "skeletor" or "transformer" cap in my life. My 5 year old may like it, but I'm an adult and.....just no.

If businesses don't care to make money they people should move on....businesses go down in flames all the time when they do things to alienate customers. Creating "exclusivity" is an arrogant way of alienating customers and nothing more.  In a year people will be on to the next big thing and whatever is going on here will be dust.

What is "Bro Caps?" anyways?

I voted for 0 requirements but whatever the Bro Caps decides I can respect. I will do my best to get to the requirements because the reason I wanted to get into collecting Artisans was mainly because I saw how cool Bros were. I really like the detailed faces of caps, like Rustler or Stump or Zombro. He is hoping I manage to snag my 1st Bro cap soon.

Do you typically blindly post your opinions before reading thoroughly?

consider what an 'artisan' is, and the difference between a business and an artisan. Also consider that artisan is a single person with a job, family and other responsibilities.

I voted for requirements. I don't even meet them but I will eventually. It would be a real shame to see the quality of these caps go down. One of the reasons I got into this niche was when I saw a Bro-Ho-Ho on a buddy's board. So I appreciate what Bro is doing.

Excited to get my first reaper (at some point, fingers crossed)

It took me a year to finally win a raffle and get my first Bro Cap. I don't have any problem putting in the time to get a 100 posts. Looks to me like bullies trying to make things easier for themselves. I work in retail. I deal with people everyday that act like jerks to get what they want because it works. So, I'm just sitting here with a Rustler remaining unrustled.

Was literally just reading that.

I honestly feel bad for the people complaining.

They just want instant gratification and don't want to "work" for anything, and in this case would be the 50 posts.

It's not even 50 points that's the issue, they just don't want to be a part of GeekHack and the community here for whatever reason.

50 posts can pass really quick, even if you don't have "time" to be on here.

Oh well.
No decision you make will make these people happy. Even if you were to give everyone free caps. Then the complaint would be that everyone has caps and theirs isn't special.

Hopefully things will settle down and people will simple be a bit more involved in the community.

Between the salty sale and the rustled sale people are still butt-upset  :'(

If I may make one last just little suggestion/input

If 50 posts is the min. for sale entry right now, maybe upgrade it to 100 in 2-3 months. That way people have time to work their post count up, and they have been informed ahead of time.

Regardless; keep doing what ur doing bro, you and bunny rock

50 posts may pass really quick if GH is your forum of choice. The thing is, for many such as myself, it isn't.

People who desperately want in Bro sales will ****post their way to 50 and call it a day, adding nothing to the community. Meanwhile, active members of "the community" who choose to frequent other forums, such as DT, Reddit, Voat, Etc feel pretty shafted by the post requirement here.

Doesn't really matter what I did, people will still have a reason to complain.

I understand that some people don't choose it at their forums of choice, that's fine. My problem is the people who don't want to make the effort or have a personal problem (or just follow the crowd) with GH.

Although (in my case) Reddit isn't my forum of choice, I could easily rack up 50 posts there that aren't just spam. If I decided I wanted to reply to someone's question, or post anything productive, then I would. It's not an issue of me not having time to or that I don't go there often enough to post or get involved, it's my decision not to post.
If I decided to get 50 posts or X amount of rep (or whatever [karma if you will]) in order to participate in things over on the Reddit side, it's not that much of a problem and I'd do it. If there was a reason to do it, then it would happen sooner.

So I feel it could be the same the other way around.
It may not be your favorite, but that doesn't mean you have to spend every moment on here. Simply contribute a bit and you'll get 50 posts. You might even like it a bit more and keep posting, but you can continue to go to any other forum as your main "home".

In the end, this decision will turn away a lot of people that were toxic and unwanted. Sadly, it will push away genuine people.

Just hopefully, people can realize it's not a big deal sooner then later.

I think my main issue is, people who contribute daily will continue do so in their "home" forum, so to speak. People who just "want a bro" will post nonsense till 50 PC.

This entire system of post requirements seems to encourage ****posting more than actual participation. Sure, you'll get a few legitimate participants, but I don't see it being worth the while.

And.. uh.. kindly ignore the irony of my current participation please.

Don't forget that Bro's intent is to focus on GH as the community of choice as this is where he started in. That is his home forum, to use your words. But if people are just posting here to get to 50 post and then kept quite and be not active in GH, then you are defeating the intent and purpose of that rule.

Also. if they just ****post, then yea, the'll get to 50 and then probably stop there. Bro will see that all they're doing is spamming, and then they will no longer be eligible to win, even if selected (theoretically).
I just feel like if it's that important to them to be 1. Involved in a keyboard community 2. Get BroCaps , then how hard would it be to spend a fraction of your time on here while still spending your usual time wherever you prefer.

I dont see it as encouragement to spam though.

But like Belfong said, the focus is GH and the people here.

And as for your participation, you're simply in a discussion. No harm being done. I like that you're bringing up a viewpoint i didn't have and it just helps (at least me) understand people's frustration when it comes to the topic.

I realised after I had typed everything out that I was indeed participating, and how ironic that was with my comment.

Well i hope to see you stick around these parts, or at least be here every once in a while.

And hopefully there could be a better solution to all this craziness.

man **** them, don't go back on your word, keep it at 100

now every time they don't like something, they can cry their way into a better result

I have to agree with this.  I know Bro's already made his decision, but I voted for 100.

You win some, you lose some.

Sure, some or a lot may miss the upcoming bro sale but they still have time to catch up for the next sale. It's not like bro have a sale every other week. Should of kept with what you originally wanted
