Do you have to be in the tour to be applicable for the $50 on a HHKB or can anyone that gets convinced just by reading the thread buy a HHKB and apply for the $50?

That's discriminatory. Not only that, but it only applies to the first HHKB. What kind of BS is that?

WHY AREN'T YOU RICH?!

Don't worry, your contribution has been used to fund more HHKB tours.

Doesn't have to be new. Besides, the older ones need love too.  :D

Want to be added to my tour and just keep the HHKB when it comes in?

Hmm, it depends. I'm not sure what the people on this tour are going to do to it.  :(

These epic TL;DR threads make my eyes glaze over.

Am I dense or wouldn't it be better to have concise finite dedicated threads for things like "tours" and specific discussions?

Somewhere along the line it seemed like I was on the bus for an HHKB tour, but I have no idea how to backtrack it.

All the pertinent information is in the first post. The rest is just discussion. The tour is limited to 10 people at any one time and is currently in progress.

FLfisherman has his own thread with his own tour.

Just thought you might be interested in knowing that your tour did influence me.  My 60% Alps now has the backspace above the enter.  I liked it so much on the HHKB, I made the switch.

That's the one thing I miss most about the HHKB. I'm still used to using my ring finger for Backspace, and found it odd to use my pinkie on the HHKB Backspace, but in that short week I've grown to love it and can't wait for my next custom board (or HHKB) where I'll utilize that.

And arrived! Coming to you from HHKB land. All I can say is wow, it is a different experience. Great board demik. Smooth, comfortable and really nice to type on. I dont see why someone would dislike Topre, they can only prefer something else. Sorry demik, flipped spacebar is the way to go. I don't normally like flipped bars but on the HHKB since the bottom row is lower than normal the spacebar feels wayy to far away. The one annoying thing is that I keep pressing ~ which is my hotkey for a terminal window in Linux, and I keep pressing it instead of backspace :P

Finally on the SKCM Orange is similar to Topre front, I dont see it at all. The closet switch by far is SKCM Cream or White Dampened. Quite close but Topre brings the cushiness. I'd say its 85% Topre. So if you want Topre on the cheap buy a AEKII! /s

Overall great switch, I have a feeling I would love 55g even more.

Also, HHKB meet Alps Electric :D

Flipping hhkb space bar is the equivalent of making your own young child pigeon-toed through blunt-force trauma.

That put a mental image of ripping off the spacebar with the HHKB screaming in pain, which is kinda funny. Only to put it on backwards, to the HHKB's displeasure.

I am with you on flipped spacebars expect the HHKB in particular with its low bottom row. I'd imagine I would hate a flipped bar on a Realforce.

Also demik, i'm curious, whats you opinion on Alps?

i've never tried alps aside from a really ****ty ducky keyboard with what im assuming was fake green alps switches. oh and a siig minitouch (the white xm version).

so, i dont really have an opinion lol.

i do like clicky switches (greens/blues) so, if there is an alps version of that i'd love to try it.

Oh. SKCM Blue would be what you are looking for. Great switches imo.

Back to the HHKB I am quite accurate on this keyboard, more than any other I have run into before. The weight is perfect for what it is. I also love the little pffft sound when you press the keys ;D

Not so far, but ill keep my eye out. Did he have a Mac? Since it was in Mac mode when I got it and I had to switch it back to PC for Linux.

Hey, uh ... is that list completed yet? The likelihood I'd actually convert is slim, but I *did* have a HHKB-lite2 for a decade as my work keyboard.

I like the layout. Would be curious about what started the hype.

hm, i doubt the OS is the problem. i wonder who changed it to mac mode. i mean, maybe it was me and just forgot to flip the switches back.

i'd love to.. if i had a 55g board. im just not a fan of tkl anymore. i've grown so accustomed to 60% that anything more is just too big.

i mean, i'm sure i'll eventually buy one but i doubt it'll get much use.

the beauty (imo at least) about the 55g RF is the metal plate. i haven't used a converted 55g hhkb yet but i feel like i won't get that from a plastic case mounted 55g switch. and i really don't want to experience it and hate it. so ignorance is bliss.

I'm used to Alps battleships so I can take anything lol. I have a feeling that a metal plate 55g switch would be perfect. The HHKB is slightly too mushy for my tastes. Bogs down my speed a bit.
