It's here safe and sound, really it made it pretty quick, just a couple business days.

So Day 1:
Its a lot lighter than i am used to, which is good for portability if i get one, the actuation force is also something i would have to get used to, but ill see in a few day's most do say that it grows on you and you dont immediately fall in love with topre switches.  But it is deffinitly a lot easier on the fingers since im used to two mech boards with metal plates. The layout is also taking a bit to get used to but after an hour i have it most of the way down, and i do like it quite a bit. I do really like the sound of the keys returning.

Here it is on my currently a bit cluttered desk.

Glad it got there alright. Did you look in the envelope? Taking off a Topre spacebar is quite easy, did it twice to try the bar both ways. Just be gentle and try to apply equal pressure on both sides. Take off the 1.5u caps btw.

I did look. Trying to think of something cool I can do :p.

I'll definitely try it either way then. Compared to the clear cherry switches on my other board it is probably a peice of cake...

"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Now why would he remove the spacebar? Is there something wrong with it?

Tough decision then.... Love the layout, but then again the HHKB Pro 2 has more support for custom key caps...
