If anyone felt like some bling ...
« on: Mon, 10 December 2012, 13:50:39 »
Was browsing around yahoo auctions jp and saw this:

FILCO FKB-92ERG Stealth ALPS Gold Version

A bit much for my tastes but looked interesting. The regular black had green alps from what I've seen researching and there was one with white alps.

I like yellow, and even some golden yellows, but not this.
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Typing in a linear sense of feeling lighter "Shuko~tsu → Kotsun specific" green axis. There is no sense of cha inherent in a simple switch of course."

Interesting to see the subtle SMK sticker on the back. SMK were Diatec's OEM before they went out of business and Diatec swapped to Costar.

The regular black had green alps from what I've seen researching and there was one with white alps.

Green as in linear? The only green Z mount Alps switches I'm aware of are Alps complicated (linear with LED cutout) and XM clones (tactile and linear, the latter also having the LED cutout).

Sounds like there's yet more colour abuse to uncover!
