Interesting, to be sure. I'm interested in that tenkeypad also.

I like this much better than the Poker2 Pro layout. I still don't think I will be trying it though. I suppose it will be really hard to get outside Korea. Maybe easy to get the Keycool version when it inevitably comes out.
No surprise to see a keypad. I guess rumor is true there is not going to be another fullsize from Leopold. Just get the keypad to match the fc700r. I think that is a good move.

Overall the format looks ok - but I question dedicating real estate for an insert key.
insert is useless for me and i think most people.

3 programmable keys on the far right would have been more ideal.

Yup, and they easily could have fitted it too

I'm guessing they'll have the usual odd spacebar for the FC660M. A tenkeypad with PBT keycaps is welcomed in my book.

Looks like another nightmare to find keycaps for.

R Shift?  Left Win?
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Right shift is same as left, 2.25. You can find 1x Windows or blank keys from lot of place. I don't see a big problem there.
The spacebar mount is the #1 thing Leopold should change, use the same as everyone else. It serves no purpose other than to be annoying.

I don't care about the insert key, cuz you can just map it into something else...

Right then, so it's wider than a Deck 82 (305mm), Noppoo Choc Mini (315mm), or the like, but you only get 66 keys. And it still hasn't got a TrackPoint.

Conclusion? "Meh."

Hmmm..... True... But.... I think the proportions look good, because it feels more "svelte" due to its length, and less "bumbly" looking like the pure/pokers

wow. Very cool. Nice layout for those who enjoy compact boards. I would think they will use dumb spacebars though. Does this mean both of these will be full PBT or just the 66-key?(EDIT: Nvm, I read further to see 1.3mm PBT on the description)

I might be very interested in the 21-key in MX blues if EK ever gets it in stock. I do have a lot of accounting courses to take in college!  ;D

Having Delete in the upper right corner (like on the Choc Mini) is an awesome feature... surprised why Leopold chose not to do that, or squeeze in an extra key above the up arrow.

I honestly would prefer if the two keys on the right were Pg Up, Pg Dn or Home, End with Fn layers or something. I never use Insert, and I rarely use delete. Must say though, it IS an interesting concept. Glad to see more "60%" keyboards in the making with new looking layouts (and arrow keys!!!!!!!).

Looks perfect. Love that they followed in the FC700's footsteps in sharp edged design. Lets just hope they didn't in the low profile keys or irreplaceable space bar. I hope they release a Graphite coloured version. When and where can I get my hands on one of these?

Of all the keys to put on the right hand side they choose insert and delete. Home/end then page up/down would have been more useful IMO.

Reprogram it yourself using Autohotkey, it would be a 2 line code

yup, idk why people complain so much about layouts... you don't even have to use autohotkey,  You can use the scan code remapper for windows server, "works on xp/win7", to change any key to any other key.. This doesn't add another layer of input detection. Windows will automagically recognize the code for that insert key as esc for example.

this is better because it doesn't mess up games and other programs like autohotkey does sometimes...

Program is called "scancode remapper for windows nt",  downloads as part of a package from microsoft's website, so you know it's safe..

Correct, this is a good argument.. It "is" troublesome to have to remap for "every" system...

But... how often does one "really" use different systems...  especially since it seems in the "what do you do with your keyboard thread"  everyone "hoards" their good keyboards  at HOME...

well they HAD to have delete, that's a given...   so nothing else could really go above delete from that cluster which is remotely useful... MAYBE HOME...  and have it with a "toggle" ability for "END"

Leopold should start making their space bars like the "standardized" Filco, Das, Ducky, etc. It seems like they have a different space bar with every new model.

Swap the Delete and Insert works for me.

I hop between many operating systems, Windows, freeBSD, etc, so reliance upon third-party programs kinda sucks if such a simple change could be implemented in the original design.

There is no reason for that space bar to be as long as it is. If the Windows key was a 1.25 mod I'd be perfect.

I think it's cuz some people have very short thumbs maybe? or just very small hands.. so the longer space bar helps them not have to travel their hands "up and down" as much.

Interesting that the official announcement pics show the board with blank white keycaps. Think they'll be shipping it that way? I like the white but I'm a terrible typist; I need the legends.

For a 60% board this is a pretty good layout. It deals with the usual tradeoffs btw the width of the shift key and having dedicated arrow keys sensibly...by simply widening the board enough for one extra key!

Also seeing the comparison photos makes me really wish the Matias didn't have such a thing for shiny black/silver...

If you check out the Leopold products (specifically fc700r) , they usually have 3 versions of each color.

Blank
English Legends
English + Korean Legends

Its also worth noting that they have a nice soft grey color for the legends on white keycaps.

:] And yes they are all PBT.

Say whatttt. That's an awesome keyboard. I wish I had slowed down on buying keyboards and being a consumer. Maybe it's time to sell some stuff.

Next step is for WASD and CM Storm to catch up, and start using PBT stock :D

I'm even liking how the PCB looks :D

Looks nice but the USB connector on the PCB itself is not something I'm fond about. Argh, they should have put PgUp/PgDown instead of Insert/Delete... or they should have added 2 extra keys, there's room for them.
