Any online games where douche-baggery is allowed (and encouraged?)

I'm not sure what kind of category this would be ... basically the sort where being a pain in the ass is the way to get ahead.

Example: A free FPS game called Urban Terror exists for Win/Mac/Linux.  One of the things you can equip is night vision goggles - which make the whole screen turn green.  Someone  might have immediately thrown their goggles on a random person just watch them throw all their inventory on the ground desperately trying to get rid of them.  Also smoke grenades in camp... etc....

Any games out there that allow such uncivilized behavior?

EVE Online - The best way to make a lot of money in a long game strategy, is to get high up in an Alliance so you have access to the Alliance's wallet and ship hangar, then just one day steal everything and disappear.

Or pretend to be helping someone out on a mission, don't have a loadout for NPC killing, but instead have one for player killing and just gank the **** out of your "friend".

Also espionage is a huge thing.

However, you can get really far being a nice guy and trying to make people work together, for example Shaun Smith, aka Vile Rat, aka one of the guys who was killed in the US Embassy attack two years ago.

Try a text-based MUD -- they're run by ordinary people, not huge companies, so being a douche won't just get you removed from the game -- the owners of the games sometimes get inventive. The MUD I play on (Waterdeep - Forgotten Realms- and Final Fantasy-themed fusion) actually crucifies their grief players in a special area of the game, as a warning.

A lot of these MUDs are PK - Player Killer, so you can run around the game world killing people and taking their hard-earned things. So, I don't know if that's douche-y enough for you, but it is for some people.

And no, I haven't been crucified.

Certain FFXIV servers for sure. If you can alienate the horde of bad players and avoid angering the good ones, you can get things done faster. Being "nice" and tolerating the bad players will slow you down big time.

Walking in the grey area is hard but rewarding as civ. Every time you kill somebody it's rdm, vdm or some other bull**** even if you roleplay that **** to the letter.

It's pretty awesome to steal some squads two 1.5 mil choppers and chopshop them.

Oh god, a few buddies and I once did exactly that. So much anger in the chat when they realized their heli was missing )

I remember one RDM workaround was if you blew up a vehicle with people inside, the killfeed would show that they were killed by the world instead of a player. Typically it would go uninvestigated despite their complaining.

Now I want to play takistan/altis life again.
