My stubby little sausage fingers will never let me be an MLG Pro pen spinner. Same reason I can't play the guitar.  :'(

I wish I was as talented as the people in that video :(

I can only do the standard around the thumb, and I'm working on learning reverse around the thumb.

Oh I'm not either. Those guys are wizards. I taught myself around the thumb as a way to keep myself from fidgeting a bunch while taking tests and whatnot. It keeps me busy while also keeping me more focused than I would normally be.

I hope they use their abilities to fight crime.
Or commit crime, I don't care.

Just something interesting.

I try and try, but the pen ends up on the floor all the time.

"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

What do you guys use?

Bro, I am not spinning my vintage waterman. The first of my Hi tek's is getting beat up so maybe I'll try that.

I want to get the one where it goes all the way around your thumb. That way I'll have something to do when I'm away from my kendama.

I'd never suggest spinning a pen.  Sticks on the other hand are fair game.

I tried to make a quick small video using an iPhone and it's now uploading, I did it in slow-mo so maybe you can try to learn.

It's actually the easiest, you can do it!

I used to do the around the thumb thing in university, it was something you could do without thinking while you were studying or doing homework.  Wound up doing it during tests, where the invigilators wouldn't let you get up to get your pen/pencil.  Always carry spares....lol.
Currently GMMK Pro: lubed 68g U4T, FR4 plate, extra gaskets, etc

I write with Rotring Rapid Pros... no way I can spin that one :D

Before that I used Pilot shaker pencils, spun those all thru highschool.

The trick is that you need to make sure you buy a well balanced pen / pencil so you can spin it.
