Hitman is pretty good for malware and internet issues, it detects and removes proxies.
use a hypervisor and just restore the guest OS or whatever if anything happens. Or on every boot.It's more important to just not go on websites where you'll get that sort of thing. Most people, this is what happens to them.

And this whole "use Linux to be virus-free" thing is silly; I've been running Windows for years without an antivirus and I'm fine.
I use Norton, and I will say that is a noob solution. Norton sucks and screws up your computer and winds up denying your browser access to the internet.
But looking at this thread I don't think I can handle the more complicated technical demands, let alone migrate to Linux.
