« on: Mon, 28 April 2014, 18:42:25 »
..........that you've become a Fattie...

.... Today..

I ate 2x 4" diameter Mooncakes straight, by myself... between lunch and dinner...

/white-people, in terms of mass, that's like 2 tubes of oreos.. mookcakes are also all sugar..

Then.. I began to sweat a little bit... and almost fell asleep...

When I saw the obesity chart for my height and realized I was 30lbs over it. Since then I discovered this is my plateau weight and have since learned to enjoy being a fattie because I can just eat everything I love and stay at this weight (albeit a fat weight, but **** it)

If I was meant to lose weight, exercise wouldn't feel like torture. No, worse than torture.

When your belt buckle pops off by itself  ^-^

I actually had this happen once (it was broken). Still, even within a healthy range thought, **** it, hit the exercise bike and lost 30 pounds in a few weeks. Became underweight for a while. Felt good.

When I saw the obesity chart

Man, I hate those things.  The most recent one didn't go to my height, so I extrapolated out to my height and at my weight at the time it said I was obese.  Not overweight, but obese.  I would not have considered myself obese.  Now I am slightly overweight, but I was not at that time.

yeah, I'm 6'3 @ =~ 250

I was looking at the BMI calculator. At 150lbs (normal??!?) I would look like the resurrected corpse of a decaying crack head from a third world country. Who the **** does these calculations on healthy weights? I know I'm fat, but saying 145-160 is normal for anyone over 6' is crazy.

As someone who is 6'8", yes.  This is completely right.  The whole BMI thing falls apart as soon as you aren't perfectly average.

I have a naturally 32" waist with a little slack; if my jeans/trousers start to feel tight and that I could use a 34", then I know it's time to cut down before it gets out of control.

I finally gained 10 lbs. It's taken me years of not working out anymore. I'm proud to say that I'm 5'10.5'' and 145 lbs.

I have a small but detectable fat deposit.

Growing up must suck...

You can get older, but who says you have to grow up?
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

never EVER use bmi.

it never takes into account body composition.  therefore it can never tell you if you're over-, under-, or proper weight.

bmi is a marketing tool, such as 'gaming grade.'  using bmi is like saying you're a better gamer now that you're using a razer board.

BMI doesn't take into account composition...

However...   the odds that your Composition is so great as to put in the obese range.. quite unlikely..

So for the upper range of over-weight, it's valid enough..

And anyone who's all muscle, WOULD KNOW IT.... there has never been an incident where such a person was wrongly prescribed something due to BMI...

I agree that BMI is a pretty useless scale. It's not body mass, rather body FAT percentage, that makes you healthy vs. a tub of lard.

On that note, I gained 10 lbs in a week since I quit smoking cigarettes. Been eating like crazy too, most likely a side-effect of the Prednisone I've been taking.

Gained 10 lbs, still am considered underweight...

(...)Whereas back then I wrote about the tyranny of the majority, today I'd combine that with the tyranny of the minorities. These days, you have to be careful of both. They both want to control you. The first group, by making you do the same thing over and over again. The second group is indicated by the letters I get from the Vassar girls who want me to put more women's lib in The Martian Chronicles, or from blacks who want more black people in Dandelion Wine.
I say to both bunches, Whether you're a majority or minority, bug off! To hell with anybody who wants to tell me what to write. starting to quit doesn't matter much. it only makes sense when you quit smoking forever.
