Icelandic village
« on: Fri, 25 April 2014, 17:16:45 »
Does anyone feel like that GH has become some what desolate like that Icelandic village..

I saw an episode on discovery about it,  where people live quite far apart, so only once a year they have a courtship event (a ball, sort-off) at a small tavern in the middle of no-where, and about 40x people about come to meet each other.

I really like Iceland
Can we get them to build the Alps ten feet higher and get Cherry to pay for it?

I prefer the Icelandic sagas.  Oh they bring joy to my heart.  The blood-feuds, wars, clans, monsters, what is not to love?

What are the roofs (the bit under the grass) made of?

It would have to be something resistant to the dampness inherent in the grass and soil.
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

no idea why it doesn't. those houses were originally made from birch and oak.

It was a great vacation despite the weather and the lack of activities, the nature was just amazing. I would recommend visiting it if you're in to beautiful landscapes and especially waterfalls (they have like a billion of those)... now for some more pictures;

Heh, loving the photos  :D

Switch the default theme to a new, better light theme, and add images to the front page and the place would seem a lot friendlier for newcomers. I've seen a few passionate communities become like little villages, where a handful of people make most of the posts. Still appreciate them for what they are.
