Anyone wanna play DayZ that won't shoot me in the face and rob me? Don't have many steam friends and this is the first game on steam that I'm really into. Haven't found any guns or higher tier gear, have no idea where I'm going and could use a little guidance. Everytime I approach people they point guns at me and tell me to **** off

Been getting into X-Com again since a friend of mine recently got it and started talking about it. I still regret going ironman, I'm so incompetent at x-com that without being able to properly savescum I just mess up everything.

Been playing Satazius and if you enjoy a fantastic side-scrolling SHMUP with GIGANTIC levels (very vertical, lots of variety in play) I'd highly recommend it while it's on sale through Steam.

Trying to finish Strike Suit Zero in the next couple of days and reminding myself how to play StarCraft 2. I've been meaning to make an earnest attempt at the newer XCOM game as well.

God, I should play some rogue legacy again.
Great game, but I never did get very far. Only ever beat the second boss.

It is not an easy game.

Though, I tried playing it once on my wife's old laptop, and it was super laggy (like consistent, but everything was half speed) and holy CRAP was it easier. I beat the first two bosses on my first generation. It just took forever.

I love this game.. but..... Constantly crashes everywhere?  Has that patch #5 fixed the lua crashes?  I've applied the patch #3 and everything still crashes sometimes, without warning...

I've been playing X-Com: Enemy Within for the past few weeks.
Bought the original Enemy Unknown in the last Steam Sale and liked it so much I bought the expansion. Great fun.

Tried Ironman and got slaughtered on Original. Savescumming through Normal is hard enough.
Yesterday I did an escort mission and sent out my MEC to take a look. Trigger 6 enemies and have them run into the building only to immediately kill the Escort and one of my, almost fully tricked out, soldiers... Load Game.

Maybe I will try it on my next playthrough. :P

the trouble with ironman is that there is an element of luck.. that NO AMOUNT of skill will make up for.

I've been playing Sleeping Dogs over the past two days and... The ending portion left me in shock and speechless for quite a while later. I don't think any other game so far has given me so many different feelings at the same time.
If you guys haven't played it... You're missing out. Seriously.
(You might wanna use a controller if you play on PC, though. Just saying.)

Yeah, the story in Sleeping Dogs is surprisingly good. First time in a game like that where I've actually cared about the story.

Also, controller is down to preference really. I used a controller for maybe half the time I played it, and it works just fine without. I actually ended up switching back to mouse/kb for the shooty bits when I used the controller.

I do prefer mouse for aiming, but really, I couldn't imagine doing the hand fighting without a controller. I actually set up my dualshock 3 on my PC just for it.

I wish they would release Dragon's Crown on Steam. I mean PSN is ok, but playing with PC friends rather then strangers would be better.

There's also those occasional "odd angles" where your trooper doesn't have a clear shot when he/she obviously should and then he/she dies next turn :D.
This happened me to a few days ago.

I have 200 hours in sleeping dogs..  My dream is to become a Triad Member..  no such luck though..

And IDK if people know this.. but the whole plot is 100% based on actual events.. this is exactly how Hong Kong is ran.

The voice over guy for Jackie Ma is  "edison chen".. the guy involved in the sex scandal, where he pretty much had sex with every HK female celebrity he came into contact with.. alleged sex-addict.. LOLOL

My guess is he contributed a great deal of realism and indepth information into the Triad industry.

I think the whole point of that game (based on the cover alone) is to have friends over, get drunk and play while intoxicated.

Just for note if anyone is having the bug which crashes your game on Assassins Creed IV: Black Flag PM me and I can get you the patch file you need to fix it :)

unless they have some unforeseeable downside (like they're actually made of cream cheese cunningly disguised as ABS)

AoE2, the original one. There's only one reason for me to consider the HD edition (or rather AoF) and it's the new, yet to be finished AI, because the old one is just ridiculous. But the only difference is luring boar at the moment... I'm definitely not gonna pay for *that*.

Another fine looking game I bought in the Steam sale.

Oh come on, I love both games, but they shouldn't even be compared. They're in two different categories entirely. :p

lol Yeah just having fun with words. They are extremely different, only really sharing a giant sandbox. On the other spectrum though, I actually enjoyed SR4 more than GTAV(other than it's amazing music and voice acting.)

Mostly playing DayZ, CSGO and Hearthstone at the moment. Waiting for some new releases like Titanfall etc. Hoping for some good titles this year. Somebody tell me if rust is any good if they have it/played it. Looks fun, but I need some friends to play with. All my friends are cod players on the xbox sadly, and whine at me when I call them peasants :<

Rust is alright. There's not much to do so it gets boring quickly, but it's fun to build up a huge base with friends. In its current state it's not worth $20, but new stuff gets added every week.

oh god, after years of hurling insults at friends who play MOBA games i finally played league of legends for the first time a week ago and then later i tried Dota2 a few days ago. holy **** these games are addictive and fun as ever imagined. League seems a bit less serious than Dota2; Dota2 just feels really intense and looks to involve a very large time investment. League shows its age and it looks to me Dota2 is the better game technically but I don't know if i have the time needed to invest on it to get good; lots more to learn.

I used to be like that too laugh at people who play MOBA games and then I started haha.
These games get stressful if you actually take time to learn the mechanics and strategies because you'll always have people who don't understand these things and make poor game losing decisions.
So I would say make sure you always play with friends because that way you always have fun together.
It's very painful, sometimes, to be in losing games with people you don't know.

Started on ZX Spectrum games LOL, I remember a monochrome flight simulator on a screen resolution of 256×192 pixels... some isometric 3D games... That's maybe why I'm still having fun with Diablo II (not the 3). Played FPS for a while but don't like them anymore, I prefer not so fast paced games where you have to use your mind, and deep content games prior to graphics performances, that's also why I stopped playing WoW. I loved Dungeon Keeper and Evil Genius, great concepts. Wakfu is a nice concept too but not deep enough. More casual now, I often play W.O.T. which is f2p and very well polished tactic/simulation game but lacking RPG elements. Surfing the web to see what's coming next but it seems that nothing new will come, more and more cinematics, more and more graphic effects... but less and less "use your mind" concepts, more and more online shops, bugged releases, online laging gaming (omg Path of Exile), 100% tutorial games concepts... so I'm writing a book stacking all game concepts I've never seen and my boiling brain is able to catch^^, that's why I need a good keyboard  :D

Knight lore on ZX spectrum, Diablo II ancestor ?

oh god, after years of hurling insults at friends who play MOBA games i finally played league of legends for the first time a week ago and then later i tried Dota2 a few days ago. holy **** these games are addictive and fun as ever imagined.

It's very painful, sometimes, to be in losing games with people you don't know.

... or you can loose the last friends you had  ;D

I also laughed at my friends who played Dota and LoL, then I tried it...

I'm in love  :'(
unless they have some unforeseeable downside (like they're actually made of cream cheese cunningly disguised as ABS)

My eye's are awful too. When I was born they thought my cornier's had detached themselves  :-\

They invented these things in about the 11th century called glasses, designed for the purpose of seeing  ;D

But making them bigger wise? I'm not sure, trying googling and looking for a mod.

I remember this game on the NES, unholy hell was it awful. It may have been the first game that ever caused me to go into a seizing fit of uncontrollable rage. The **** perspective on many rooms, coupled with the pinpoint accurate jumping that's required. God damn, I'm having daymares just remembering it from 20 something years ago.

THis looks good.. but is it enough of a HALO killer?

Pretty sure Halo did a better job than anyone else of trying to kill it
