I've never played anything past silver on the gameboy color.  (Beat yellow not silver).  How different are the new games?. Also I really wish they would re-release red blue and yellow with the only things that change are the graohics and maybe an option for the original or updated sound.  I would be all over that.

They did didn't they?
Yeah it's pretty good tbf. If you have a 3DS and have taken a long break from the series I think it's probably the best version to jump into with a lot less confusing random **** that was in X and Y. It also has a lot fewer Pokemon to start you off with, which helps you get adjusted to the generation of Pokemon, unlike X and Y which seem to throw like a million different generations of Pokemon at you at once and assume you know them all

My first step would be to Get a 3DS.  All my money seems to keep getting tied up in home improvement projects or keyboards lol.  Maybe for my birthday as I want to relive one of my favorite childhood games, 21st century style.

As someone who owns both a 3DS and a Vita, I could recommend a 3DS to anyone. It's a pretty ugly device with dubious hardware, but some really great games. Hell even the version of Tekken is pretty good. Street pass is also cool.
If you grew up with Nintendo you'll get a lot of out it, and even if you didn't (like me) there is still a lot of fun to be had.

MMORPG

Great Graphics
Balanced Economy
Free to Play
Not Pay to Win

Something like Tera (Without that unbalanced economy) or Guild Wars 2 (Except Free to Play). Thanks :D

Has anyone played Path of Exile and is it any good? One of my old school friends has asked me to check it out as he plays it, but I don't know if I want to lose my life to another MMORPG right now...
Can we get them to build the Alps ten feet higher and get Cherry to pay for it?

I have but couldn't really get into it. Partially because of time, partially because I didn't have any friends playing it.  I'll day this, if you liked Diablo 2 there is a good chance you Will like this.  Tons of ways to make your character unique through skill choices and stars.  Being it's free I would definitely check it out.  I don't think it would ruin your life like an mmorpg.  I've been there lol. 6-8 hours a day during the week and 12+ on the weekend.

I couldn't really get into it.
I played the heck out of it during beta and then realised that I just didn't like the combat at all.
The combat with any character just seems sluggish and unresponsive to me.
Compared to Torchlight II and the feedback it gives, the combat feels like I'm swinging at nothing.

I never played Diablo, but I've heard the comparison made before. I will give it a go I guess, I have other things to play already that take up all the free time I do have, not that I have very much of that anymore.

I installed The Crew 2 days ago after getting it from the nvidia pick your path bundle but got bored right after the first mission. Nowhere nearly as fun as the NFS games I used to play in the past. IDK if my standards went up or the new gen titles are that uninteresting. Would've picked ACU if not for all the bugs.

Other than that I play mostly SC2 and some other RTS. My motion sickness prevents me from playing most FPS games except CSGO.

Path of Exile is great, and you can't really 'waste' your time on it because progression is fairly quick. The unique skill tree also allows a crazy number of viable class and skill combinations.

One thing I did prefer in D2 was the various settings and the enemies you encountered there. PoE is a bit goofy in that regard.

I'm just terrible at timing the blocks/parrys with foes that zip around the screen (i.e. every single boss) because the camera doesn't autofocus on the enemy and as far as I know there's no targeting system, so I have no clue when to parry. It's making the game extremely difficult.

I know what you mean but the only boss where you need to worry about parrys is the dog.

I love MGR, it's so silly and so insane. If your having troubles play it on the easiest setting. It's designed to be played game+ so when you finish it all your unlocks are carried over to a new save. That's how I played it, started off on easy and worked up my abilities and weapons up so I could play it on the harder difficulty levels and even then I suck too much to S rank stuff or do most of the tutorials lol

I mean, GW2 is as close as you'll get to fulfilling all of those requirements, and it lacks the monthly subscription most MMO's have

Wow, this Steam sale is maybe the worst I've ever seen. Not a single game on my wishlist has gone for more than 50% off. Remember when everyday you would see 75% and 90% off games you actually wanted? Me thinks Valve has grown a bit fat and greedy over the past 4 years.

Cubemen 2, the worst disappointment in a long time. It somehow reminds me of Fieldrunners 2, but doesn't bring enough new content/balance to justify the purchase.

Speaking of Fieldrunners 2, all these games have one endless grinding mission.

So apparently Runescape is dying. Which is awesome as I've just got back into it. Apparently subscriptions for new members have gone up, and if you are an existing member and your sub lapses for more than 14 days, yours goes up too.

The P2W aspect has seen a rise, and the new vice whatever she is is best known for bringing down Codemasters from the inside.

So there's that.

Bought a few games in this sale, I didn't think it was too bad. Go STALKER, This War Of Mine, and Miasmata. Not the best deals I've ever had but not the worst either.

Hmm, I bought Skyrim and after about 15 minutes I decided I didn't like it.
GTA 4 was cheap so I bought it, although I don't know the series other than it's supposed to be famous. Didn't install it yet.
I got Grid autosport, but my (very cheap) wheel is at a friend and I didn't feel the urge of playing it for now anyway. Also picked up a cheap pack with GT Legends, GTR 1 and 2, etc a bunch others. Might try them at some point.
I also got train simulator 2015 because it was cheap, I am not sure if that was a good purchase either.
The full Valve pack at 17 euro was quite tempting and I can say at least I am playing CS Go (did a couple of hours with a friend and bots anyway), although I had that one before I bought the pack.

My wishlist has stuff like the new Civ, new Borderlands, Kerbal space program, and xenonauts. Neither of these were really cheap and I didn't feel like sacrificing any real money for them right now. I'm sure in a half year or so 50% off them will mean 50% off current price's 50% and I'm not in a hurry. Christmas is costly as it is and I am a poor man anyway. :)

I recently signed in to runescape after 426 days (that's what it said when I logged in) of not playing.  I stopped because it was becoming too pay-to-win and there were too many bots.  It seems both of those things are still coming in full force and arguably in greater force than when I left.

Since my server is down (doing a total rebuild), and therefore all my movies and stuff is unavailable (since I put them on multidisk parity arrays) I decided to start working through my steam backlog (I'm WAY behind)... starting with Batman Arkham Asylum. Off to a good start I feel, and yeah it's my first time playing it even though I've had it for a pretty long time.
I did my best not to buy any new games in the steam sale which I did manage since there wasn't much that was on my 'must have' list, and since I have loads I haven't yet touched... but I was highly interested by the current eye candy 2 humble bundle so I did grab that.
I've also been distracted the last couple days by Kavinsky, a game featuring one of my favorite musicians. It's highly casual and I suspect it would be better on the tablets... but still pretty decent.

Ugh I hated that Kavinsky game... Though that came out about the same time as his last album, which I found really disappointing, so that might have coloured my opionion of if...

I've put about 17hours into Bravely Default and have enjoyed it so far, burnt out a bit now though, the combat is pretty good but can get tedious at times... And putting that much time into a game like that and the last two Pokemon has really turned me off the whole design and build of the 3DS, it's such an ugly peice of ****...

I'm currently on Abyss Odyssey. It's got a beautiful art style, and the combat is relatively deep for a side-scroller. I've heard it's pretty short, and not too much reply value, but I'm not too bent out of shape about that since I only paid about seven dollars for it.

Lots of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Call of Pripyat with Misery 2.0

Probably the single most difficult video game(+mod) I've ever played in my life. It's so brutal, death can quite literally happen every few steps. Hurt me more Daddy, please! ;)
