Does anyone have a recommendation for an RPG to play? I've been bored with my games lately and am looking for something new.
What are you looking for in one? I can wholeheartedly recommend anything from Spiderweb Software. There are tons of content with great world building.

Haha, I actually played Geneforge 3 back in the day and it was awesome, I'll have to look at some of their newer stuff. Thanks!

What kind of RPG do you mean? Idk about jRPGs but if you're looking for a cRPG, Divinity: Original Sin is fantastic and modernized. Came out last year.

I actually have a few friends who play this game, I never really gave it much of a look though - I guess now I might have to  :p.

You could check out Valkyria Chronicles if you haven't. Also Darkest Dungeon if you like roguelike RPGs

Who has time for games?  GeekHack has become my life.  I'll return to gaming sometime.  Maybe after I acquire my next couple of boards or build my own.  Maybe.   Before GeekHack dominated my computer time, in the past year, I played Far Cry 4, Diablo 3, South Park:  The Stick of Truth, Crysis, and Sky Rim.

Don't worry about pervy DLC. Just wait until the nude patches and exported models start showing up in porn. :))

I had a discussion about this recently with a buddy in game development..

Basically..  Completely naked women are not NEARLY as interesting as "half-naked women"..

Which is why things like zettai ryouiki 绝对领域 + semi-transparent costumes are exploited so heavily in Women's apparel (in game media).

Notice also the latest (Satin trend in fashion)..   essentially, because softcore pr0nography has become mainstream and considered kid-friendly..  the fashion industry had to take drastic measures to keep female clothing -enticing- for males..

The most unrealistic thing about these games has to be the Female fighters fighting in high heels..

I mean.. they may be masters of controlling their bodies,  but if you reduce contact area for your feet,  you lose kicking power regardless of how well trained you are.

I downloaded the new Unreal Tournament today.

(not my screenshot btw)

It's pretty fun although learning the jumping mechanics is probably going to take a while since I've barely played any Arena shooters before.
In the end.. the keyboard's most grand form of existence is as an ethereal bridge between man and machine..    Each depression of the keys, evanescent.. Our transitory thoughts crashing into the web, carving canyons through the internet wasteland such that life may once again flourish..

Wow, so Hotline Miami 2 sucks a big fat ****. I know it's supposed to be hard, but this game not only is extremely unfair and cheap, but it takes away all the fun and skill from the first game a replaces it with near-impossible situations and super buggy enemies that are sometimes unkillable because they glitch out.

**** this game, do not buy it until the devs fix the myriad of things wrong with it. I'm so mad and sad about this  >:D  :'(

I haven't had any problem with enemies, and I agree that it is kind of challenging, but Hotline Miami 1 was way too easy except for like the last 2 levels. I enjoy this level of hardness, because with the last game I beat it within an hour or two.

Yeah, lock on don't do **** when mega cheap-ass snipers that are way off screen are barraging you with bullets for literally 10 minutes. There's a huge difference between challenging and spitting in the players face. Instead of being a fast paced combo murder sim, it's become a tedious game of peek a boo with unfair advantages in favor of your constant death. Melee is like a 50/50 shot now no matter when you swing you're rolling the dice with a hand weapon. Don't even get me started on the garbage level design, bugs and difficulty aside, that level design is just shameful and lazy. Plus there's some instances where you just get blindsided by bull**** design, like you're 10mins into a level but HAVE to know you'll get immediately rushed when entering a room by ****face Psychos. So much bull**** in this game. The boat level? Holy ****. You can't say that was well designed in any way and deserve to keep your gamer card. And how about those Hawaii missions?

You can use LShift to look a bit ahead in the mission though. I am not saying that I finish levels on my first try, but I usually go slow the first time, and then after that I start figuring out the order in which to drag and click so I stay fluent, and so I can stay fast paced.

Seeing what's ahead does not fix terrible level design. Just because the levels are way bigger and crammed with enemies doesn't make the game better, in fact it makes it much worse. The first game had a frenetic pace fueled by combos, and this one just plops you in an open field full of enemies with big guns and no cover where you have to laboriously inch your way through like frightened snail when at any second some stray sniper bullet could end you. Over and over and over again. Honestly some of the worst overhead level design I've ever seen, like it was made for a different game entirely or the devs didn't bother to play them at all.

**** this game, do not buy it until the devs fix the myriad of things wrong with it. I'm so mad and sad about this  >:D  :'(

PS the music's still amazing though
I haven't had any problem with enemies, and I agree that it is kind of challenging, but Hotline Miami 1 was way too easy except for like the last 2 levels. I enjoy this level of hardness, because with the last game I beat it within an hour or two.

Yeah agreed I loved my time with HM2... for sure one of my fav games in the last year or so

tutle, you know about the lock on mechanic?? I didn't know about it until someone pointed it out, mapping it to E helped me ALOT

The level design isn't terrible... your suppose to learn the levels and then design combo's around finishing them, not blitz it ezpz first try.
I really like the design of this whole game and prefer it over the first one (as someone who struggled with the first game).

If your struggling with it (which I did too) then have a gander at some of the 'lets plays' for Hotline Miami 2 to give you an idea of how your suppose to approach it, might help, might not... best thing you can do is just learn it :P

I didn't know about lock on until the very last fight in Jacket's campaign. I felt really dumb because of how much frustration I endured due to not knowing the mechanic.

I never knew about it in the first game and was only told by someone in another forum when I was struggling with the opening of HM2

I installed Skyrim again, but on my new computer, so no previous mods or anything.

I just went through the list of essential mods on the Skyrim subreddit, and I'm going to do the alternate start and start a new game as a High Elf mage (hard mode engaged)

Next week is going to be fun.
Can we get them to build the Alps ten feet higher and get Cherry to pay for it?

I've been having fun playing Baldurs Gate, Icewind Dale, and some other Infinity engine CRPGs lately. I love the details and atmosphere, and it really takes me back to play these games again.

Plus I'm a sucker for CRPGs that use DnD rulesets..
