Is it worth it much?

I would get them individually. Do you even want all or most of them?

It's funny... I don't have Half-Life, because that's during the first era of Steam, and I lost my account because I forgot the password, lost the e-mail address, and lost the CD-Key.  So I never bothered to get it again, as I'd already finished it.

Do you never have the urge to feel the wow again like "dude this was aaaweessome" and relive all those moments you had with the game?

Yeah, I have most of those games on an account that isn't my main. It's like 8 years old but I can't combine accounts.

Nah... replayability for me means finding new stories, not reliving old ones.  Besides, I have a huge backlog just on steam.  Playing the same detracts from getting through that backlog.

Agreed. Especially since revisiting a lot of these games makes them look really dated. I like my memories untarnished by the reality.

Yeah I can see that. I have a pretty huge backlog as well.. still have to finish Witcher 3, Bloodborne, GTA 5 (late to the game), Fallout 4. So enough hours left to play for me.

Still all about the killing and kdr. There's just the added bonus of skin based microtransactions.

Ah ok. Is there matchmaking nowadays? Back in the 1.6 days I was a bad ass but I'll probably be more respawning than killing nowadays.

The match making is pretty good. Usually don't have to wait. Tons of players will help with that.

I've played those Sam games to death. There was even this time when there were too many monsters / creatures spawning, so I literally put a bit of tape on my left mouse button and kept going. It was awesome. That game was ridiculous.

Picked up Dark Souls 3 last night and it's fun but seems extremely easy compared to the others in the franchise. I was able to kill Ludex on my very first attempt - that shouldn't happen :(

I have only one death in 3 hours and that was from rolling off a cliff like an idiot. I do hope it picks up in difficulty but so far just feels like any action game since there's no sense of danger. Pretty though.... but I cannot figure out why I am getting lag playing offline  :blank:

Look at you with the DS3 skills. This is my first dark souls game and I'm finding it pretty difficult. Not horrendously so but still quite challenging. Beating a boss is really satisfying.

Honestly I think this is where most of the difficulty comes from. The first Souls game you play is bound to be much harder for you than any one after it as you won't be familiar with any of the mechanics that the game throws at you (Ornstein and Smough though...). With that said I've found DS3 to have been pretty easy in the early game but the difficulty is slowly ramping up as I get closer to mid-game.

I feel that Ludex should be pretty straight forward to veterans of the series so I'm not surprised that I beat him in two attempts. I haven't gotten far enough into the game to truly judge the difficulty yet though. I really am enjoying it as a whole!

Nightmare isn't too bad (I casually speedrun it!), some of the AI is far more predictable on Nightmare I reckon.

Despite that, I still enjoy the occasional run on Easy/Normal.

Quake is super fast..

Ontop of which, It came out 1999... and was in development even before that

So the game is really Made around the Super Responsiveness of CRTs..

Unmatched by even the BEST Lcds of moderna.

If you play it on LCD,  You're not going to get that split second clutch shot from the corner of your eye.

It's mostly been about finding how to use the environment to your advantage that's kept me alive. More than any other DS game, it seems like the environment has a ton of exploitable places you can stand for safety. Pair that with a ranged weapon and you'd almost have to try to take a hit.

What is interesting about the pacing is the enemies seem much more aggressive than in previous games, but the actual mechanics promote a conservative patient style of game play where you wait and dodge through a barrage for the opportune moment. Moreso than previous DS games, almost like they've combined Demon Souls player pacing with Bloodborne counter aggressiveness.

I am not very familiar with the other games but I've definitely found the environment can be a very useful tool in this game. Leading mobs into obstacles or compromising places has made some passages super easy. Patience is definitely key.

Yep. I'm playing through Quake on normal atm haha. All these years and I still can't beat it in hardmode. Nightmare mode is too much

Nightmare isn't too bad (I casually speedrun it!), some of the AI is far more predictable on Nightmare I reckon.

Despite that, I still enjoy the occasional run on Easy/Normal.

My main problem is I never learned how to rocket/grenade jump properly so I like to clear the levels of monsters. There is not enough ammo to clear nightmare mode :'(

I played it on CRT 'back in the day' (1997-1998). The Darkplaces version works with an LED screen without any issues. Darkplaces Quake also works flawlessly with Windows 10 which imo is pretty cool. Yeah, definitely lots of action in tight spaces :thumb:

Ohhhh  ****. Danganronpa 2 just came out the other day on steam and I've been playing through it. The first one was seriously addicting. The pure amount of surprise, mystery, and anticipation makes it appeal to literally everyone, regardless if you think like the genre or not.

If you've never played Danganronpa, do yourself a favor and get it. I skipped work just to finish it. If you have, get the second one. It's even better than the first!

Just took a look at this on Steam. I might give it a shot. It looks entertaining.

Just bought Typefighters on Steam. The only (almost) game my old Thinkpad can run. I played Faster Than Light for a while too because it runs on my laptop & is Linux-compatible but haven't had the time lately.

I have actually been enjoying the Serious Sam games lately. They are really simple and perhaps even primitive by today's AAA standards, but dammit if they aren't fun as hell!

Never played any serious Sam games or even heard much about them. Is it an fps type game?

Stop making me feel old.... hahahahahaha

nawh... i know i'm old...

yea, it's fps,  like quake..

It was released way after quake, wasn't it? Like 5 or 6 years later. I can remember playing quake for the first time. The sound of the nail gun is something I may never forget.

I was once so good in UT (not quake) that I played instagib on godlike. Everybody feared me back then. But yeah... then live and beer and puberty kicked in and my skills were gone forever. Blegh.

CRTs are supreme in everything. LCDs suck. But thing is... LCD's take up less space and are bigger so I guess that's why we've chosen them over LCDs.

Also, I was playing quake / doom / doom 2 today and I noticed that it is almost unplayable on an LCD because gray gradients suck (dark to a bit less dark lighting) and black levels are shabby on LCD. It is almost impossible to see enemies in the dark on an LCD, which is what doom is all about.

My late 2010 MacBook Pro really sucks. I have a GT 330 M 512MB and I can't even play cs source / cs 1.6 at highest resolution (2560x1440) fluently. wtf is up with that? Those games are ooooold. And I don't have money around to build me a proper game right right now. So sad :(
