Just got confirmation from a client of mine that he got a letter from the IRS stating that a tax issue from 2012 is FINALLY resolved.  It's only taken almost 2 years of correspondences, corrections, phone calls, and even a meeting with an IRS agent to resolve it!  Now, I usually try to assure clients of mine that the IRS really isn't that bad in the grand scheme of things, as they are simply the enforcement and collection division for what Congress decides to be the tax code and that they are actually MUCH more reasonable than a lot of the state and city tax divisions I have to deal with regularly.  That said, when I finally heard back from this guy that things were resolved this is how I felt...

I just learned the name of something that I ate at a dim sum place 12 years ago. Not only did I learned the name but I found a recipe for it; time to make the donuts :D

My company recently went from business casual to casual (jeans!) and I couldn't be happier. I don't like clothing already (not a nudist - I just think clothing is so horribly irritating to deal with) and business attire is expensive and unfun.

The way cloths work is weird.. because,  the kind that makes you look good (assuming you're in shape)  gets you as close to your naked body geometry as possible by being tight around the waist, and hugging your shoulders...

So you're putting cloths on to look as naked as possible.. hahaha

Went to a rave (the first one in a row of seven) and my tinnitus got better.
(...)Whereas back then I wrote about the tyranny of the majority, today I'd combine that with the tyranny of the minorities. These days, you have to be careful of both. They both want to control you. The first group, by making you do the same thing over and over again. The second group is indicated by the letters I get from the Vassar girls who want me to put more women's lib in The Martian Chronicles, or from blacks who want more black people in Dandelion Wine.
I say to both bunches, Whether you're a majority or minority, bug off! To hell with anybody who wants to tell me what to write. Their society breaks down into subsections of minorities who then, in effect, burn books by banning them. All this political correctness that's rampant on campuses is b.s.

"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Perhaps it is my memory messing with me - but I seem to remember it tasting "cleaner" and lighter - less syrupy; that's the only way I know how to describe it.  Like the food/caramel coloring they add [to the non-crystal pepsi] is completely unnecessary is making it an inferior version.

A little feedback on that McDLT and why it was revolutionary at the time:  McD's used to make a dozen different burgers at a time and then let them sit under a heating element until someone came to collect them.  This helped keep the McDLT fresher longer.  Also I think they didn't mass cook multiple McDLT's as it was a much more expensive burger (compared to the 50 cent plain vanilla hamburger/cheeseburger) thus they didn't want to throw them out if they made too many.

It's great, it just works!

Right now what's making me 'happy' is music. I don't know what I'd do without it.

working from home today cuz the office is doing some electrical maintenance during my hours... wish I could every day :P
I do every day :p
