Keyboards that you can mod switches without desoldering
« on: Sat, 13 May 2017, 12:34:27 »
Which keyboards manufacturers can have their switches moddified without desoldering?

I wanted to open switches on Filco but I think these need to be desoldered..

Ideally, I'm after ISO TKL keyboard that I can open switches without desoldering...

Glorious's Modular Keyboard or the Team Wolf Zhuque, both have switches you can just pop out and in without any soldering.

Plateless keyboards with PCB-mounted MX-compatible switches.
Keyboards with plate-mounted MX-compatible switches and special cutouts in the plate. Those are only custom.
Keyboards with sockets for switch swapping on the PCB (and a special plate, presumably).
Keyboards with Alps SKCM/SKCL switches or respective clones.

So, _almost_ any Cherry G80, some vintage keyboards like Chicony KB-5191, Uniqey keyboards, the few hot-swap keyboards and some customs. Also, pretty much anything with complicated/simplified Alps or clones like Matias switches.

There's also the Kananic (德柯达) L82/S82 except the black non-backlit version (note that switches can be replaced on the white non-backlit version, as well as on all the backlit versions).
