Of course, but the question is whether we take the Planet Earth with us. Climate denial has always been a crime against "humanity" but with every passing year size and the speed of the avalanche has accelerated, especially when the Republican Party was in control of the US.

The tundra in North America and Siberia stockpiles an extraordinary amount of methane in its permafrost, and when that gets into the atmosphere the acceleration will really spiral upwards. And the northern latitudes are already heating up faster than almost anywhere else ....

Then sea levels will rise rapidly.

In the late 1970s I lived in Florida, in a low-lying area, and the (rental, fortunately) house flooded when the river rose. Ever since I have always lived on high ground. I recommend that everyone move to a place that is several meters above sea level, and/or not in any low flood-prone area inland.

We won’t die. Life has been through far more difficult times in its billion-year history. Earth doesn't care either way, life always finds a way.

We like to see ourselves and our achievements as something special and separate from nature and the rest of the ecosystem, but we are nothing special. Humans are part of earth’s natural ecosystem and the change that is occurring now is not any less natural than anything that came before. Ecosystems and the climate are changing constantly, this is neither good or bad.

Overall, it will be a slim side note in the history on this planet. Life will perish or adapt, like it always has. But humans are exceptionally good at adapting.

We can certainly be killed off, it just won't happen overnight (not like this), the dinos took a looong time to die off, it wasn't just poof, gone. It would take an eternity by human standards, but a mere instant by Earth standards.

When the reactors go, it'll be mad max fury road, but worse.  Everyone forgets how insane maintenance cost on these things are. They're poorly done at the best of times, (right now). Then add on breakdown of infrastructure/ industry. Just to qualm a blown (hernoby1 took 1,000,000 human liqudators (cleaners) initially, ontop of a significant portion of the industrial outputs of the soviet union, and TO THIS DAY, it's not over. That new 1.5 Billion dollar dome, that's a robotic crane, because they have to go in and dismantle some of the old concrete, and put in new ones. An unending nightmare.

In Fury Road, people were generally all quite happy (given the circumstances).   In reality r4diat1on sickness causes very serious psychological depression, even if you were some lorded up bad guy, it'd be impossible to be happy.

People wouldn't live much past their 20s for the first 30-50 years post cataclysm.   Then there won't be people at all. Most larger animals procreate too slowly and will accumulate too much genetic damage.  People think there will be wars, what a joke,  you'll barely be able to feed yourself, and living through rad10active depression, good luck having a war.

Only smaller closer to base creatures May survive for a few thousand years. As the existing containment and stockpiles break down further, we'll have near sterility of the surface where pockets of bacteria simple animals will exist and hopefully will remain long enough for reboot in ~100,000 to ~1,000,000 years after the r4diat1on abates.

People simply don't understand what's at stake,  IF humanity meets a serious pandemic/ mass famine die-off,  the nooq waste left un-administered, (actively cooled), is the same as b0mb1ng ourselves with ALL of our existing arsenal x1000.   Water/weathering will wash it into the oceans. GG

The existing nature that we know of is designed for very low background radiation. It's designed that way because it's been that way for millions of years.   Humans digging up rad1ati0n and concentrating it is BRAND NEW to the EXISTING ecological Infrastructure.

Relative to the Totality of Nature, it "MIGHT" survive. but relative to humans, it's 100% certainly the END..

I will take issue with this, particularly in the "short term" (ie millennia), if you are referring to the ecosystem - less so if you are talking geologically.

Crucial key portions of the ecosystem are deliberately being killed or dying as side effects of human activity. Look around rain forests, fisheries, all manner if creatures are dying off - not to mention pollution itself!

Over 99% of all species are long extinct, and all species currently alive will go extinct as well, including us. Life went through far more devastating mass extinctions, and diversified anew as a result. This is neither good or bad, its just life, and unavoidable.

Like I said in my previous comment, what we are doing to the planet now is simply a natural part of this change, as we are a natural part of this ecosystem. Nature is not just the trees and gras and fish in the sea, but also the dying stars, black holes and asteroids out in space. We are part of this universe and are part of nature as a result, and so is everything we think and do. Species will die or adapt as a result of our actions, just like a predator can hunt its prey to extinction, or like a virus or bacteria can extinguish entire populations, but earth will be just fine.

When there will be no change there will be no entropy, and no entropy means no life. Life is change.

Incorrect perspective.

From 1970 to 2012 species abundance declined an average of 58%..    We lost more than 50% of biodiversity in the last 40 years.

The Primary driver of the Anthropocene extinction which IS HAPPENING RIGHT NOW, is Animal Agriculture.    It is NOT unavoidable.
