Maybe one day I can have a magnificent beard of my own

Or maybe not, I'm almost 27 and my **** is still weak. Need to transplant my pubes.

I have a couple of friends who struggle in the beard department. One has been going for 2 years and I estimate it will only take me 3 months to catch up.
Yeah well I hate my face so I'm just hoping I can cover like half of it with hair

Short of some sort of facial wig I am out of suggestions.

I need a super effective hair softener to grow a full sized beard.
(...)Whereas back then I wrote about the tyranny of the majority, today I'd combine that with the tyranny of the minorities. These days, you have to be careful of both. They both want to control you. The first group, by making you do the same thing over and over again. The second group is indicated by the letters I get from the Vassar girls who want me to put more women's lib in The Martian Chronicles, or from blacks who want more black people in Dandelion Wine.
I say to both bunches, Whether you're a majority or minority, bug off! To hell with anybody who wants to tell me what to write. Their society breaks down into subsections of minorities who then, in effect, burn books by banning them. All this political correctness that's rampant on campuses is b.s.

Hair products should never be used on your face, it will just dry the skin out and give you beard gruff.

It all comes down to genetics - some guys can have epic beards, some can't.

Yeah basically this - I get released to go and do my "day job" which is as an IT Engineer/consultant - so I spend a lot of my time in Basements or Attics in comms cupboards :D I work 50+ hours a week on the day job, I try to get 15 - 20 hours of keyboards in, and, well there isn't really that many hours left after that!

nah, no sarcasm at all. i honestly couldn't tell if you were being sarcastic about being in serious pain from growing a beard. :-\

i recently picked up some "honest amish beard balm" and it is pretty kick ass. i have extremely curly and coarse facial hair, which can be uncomfortable at times (not sure i can call it painful tho :p). the beard balm has definitely made my beard a bit softer and overall it looks much better after about a week of using the balm.

my beard is relatively stiff and bear hair very thick. and facial skin is very gentle. that's the problem. as a result, after six weeks it feels like a bunch of weasels hold my face with their clawed paws. last time a cut off the 3 months beard (with a very good trimmer), half of my skin covered with facial hair was red.

I am 6'1, he's MUCH taller than me, like 6'5 at least, maybe 6'6. I am tall but not super tall, but I rarely feel small next to someone. I do next to him somewhat.

"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

The best picture of me in years (I am the second one from the right, the one in the middle is my brother and it was a picture during his wedding):

(Attachment Link)

I don't get the impression that you are a little guy, so the guy on the left must be a giant.  How tall are you?  How tall is he?

I am 6'1, he's MUCH taller than me, like 6'5 at least, maybe 6'6. I am tall but not super tall, but I rarely feel small next to someone. I do next to him somewhat.

All dwarves next to HoffmanMyster!

Ya, everyone things that GH stands for GeekHack.  It actually stands for Giant Hoff...  :)  Not sure Hoff is officially over 7' tall though.  :P

LOL, you guys are ridiculous.  :))  And I'm not over 7' tall.  I am but a wee giant...   :-[

I don't have many pictures of myself since I'm shy and not very photogenic, but I figured it was time I finally contribute to this thread so here's an obscure photo of myself.

I'm the goofball in the middle puck watching.

I promise I'm a total gentleman, even on the ice! I broke a couple of ribs when playing in high school, there's really not too much protection we wear and the boards/checking are extremely unforgiving.  I only play in no check leagues now, much more fun!
