GG anime artists.. AI Don' TuhkUrrJerbs..
« on: Thu, 04 October 2018, 11:59:58 »

Remember how 1 or 2 years ago, AI researchers said AI would never take the place of Artists,

Welll,,,,,, they're god-damn liars..   hahahaha

The trouble going forward is,  EVEN IF human artists have a special something,  they can not deliver at the PACE, of the AI Neural Net,  Eventually,  It's conceivable that AI can generate entire Comic books from key terms alone..

Artists have always been aware that the bulk of production is derivative, because THE ART ran on the HUMAN-Neural Net..

Now that we know for sure it can be automated.... what's left for -the artist-.

Mesmerizing or Scary.. ??

Best to Major in AI and Minor in Art ??

Thoughts ?

Its fascinating and scary. That which we can't fully understand is usually scary. Its impossible to conceive the full implications of that progression (don't we use supercomputers now to even get close to knowing what may happen?). What really opened my eyes to the severity of the issue was Musk's face on the Rogan podcast. You can see the calculation in his darting eyes as he extremely carefully describes how late we were/are to regulating the progression of AI. When you see that level of trepidation in someone who is infinitely more knowledgeable.. Its very alarming

that ai is guilty of same-facing, that demo just proved an ai can't do what a human can do well

Not really worried tbh; creative realms are always gonna require something human, unless we as the consumer start craving that type of art. Even then, I imagine there will still need to be input based on some artists original design which at that point may as well be copyright-able if entire companies are basing their source on a previously designed style.

It is true that original character design will require some sort of human element.
However, I am highly interested if a 2d character can be linked to a skeleton in order to automatically animate whatever pose one chooses. Just draw the front side, back side, left and right, and then the computer can interpret any pose. Or make a 3d textured model, key frame it, and then have an ai master it to look like a hand drawn set of images.
