Had some light surgery today then immediately went grocery shopping and in a drugged out haze tore my stitches open in the store as I stumbled over a display of artisanal crackers. Not my best moment or smartest decision.

Oh dear!  Back to the emergency room to get sewn up?

Congrats, assuming it's actually a good job.  Though supposedly it's easier to get a job when you already have one if not so a good start.

Yeah you definitely shouldn't be eating animal foods. Foods made from animals are good though.

Tried streaming for the first time today and it went poorly. The video was totally broken despite it showing it was working properly, and every game cut out like 40 mins in which was about half the time I played each game. The last hour is just missing completely, I was just talking to no one at all.

I've tried nothing and I'm all out of answers man! lol already given up on this streaming thing, can't return this new mic though :(
I feel a certain responsibility to have talking points and interesting things to talk about, then look at the top viewed channels and it's just someone sitting there talking about literally nothing for 6 hours straight. Literally no content "Uhh I'm sleepy today and had a hamburger for lunch. Oh here's my cat say hi Dipshoit" silence for 20 seconds "Uhhh so hey guys how is everyone today?" ignores chat "Well time to fake being scared of horror games and just yell in high pitched squeels for 5 hours, don't forget to donate to the least deserving human on the planet you dumb *******s! Tee hee"

I bought two keyboards. The first on-topic purchase in 8 years. One is in the post, another one is waiting to be returned lol
(...)Whereas back then I wrote about the tyranny of the majority, today I'd combine that with the tyranny of the minorities. These days, you have to be careful of both. They both want to control you. The first group, by making you do the same thing over and over again. The second group is indicated by the letters I get from the Vassar girls who want me to put more women's lib in The Martian Chronicles, or from blacks who want more black people in Dandelion Wine.
I say to both bunches, Whether you're a majority or minority, bug off! To hell with anybody who wants to tell me what to write. Their society breaks down into subsections of minorities who then, in effect, burn books by banning them. All this political correctness that's rampant on campuses is b.s.

A boomer shooter is a sub category of the FPS genre that specifically focuses on old school level design and visuals that were prevalent in 1990's FPS design.
Recently there has been both a resurgence of love for those original forefathers (like DOOM, Quake, Blood, Duke) as well as a reignited passion for that type of game design in new indie devs (Dusk, Ion Maiden, Proteus, Amid Evil)

I believe I'm one of the target audience with these shooters, but I definitely don't like them. I think new Doom and new Wolfenstein are very fun, and I enjoy playing Marathon still sometimes, so people recommend some of the retro style shooting games reminiscent of Doom, but they're just...not that good IMO. I have still yet to play Dusk though, and I understand it's very very good.

I liked Project Warlock and Ion Fury - both a bit different, but enjoyable, retro-looking shooters. First one with interesting graphics, but I guess not everybody's flavor, then second one - almost exat same as Duke Nukem.
I played both couple of hours, liked it enough to return it them some day, but not to finish them like I had in habit to do with old games back in the days. Just being older and losing interest in finishing long games:)

Dusk is phenomenal. Wonderful level design that's just complex enough without being confusing. The guy designed it does a great job of signposting things or making them easy to recognise so you don't get lost.

Amid Evil is good but looser with open levels ala Unreal 1.

There are a lot of crappy endless retro styled FPS games that didn't float my boat. Devil Daggers was probably the only one grabbed me for a few weeks.

Also almost every boomer shooter of the last4 years has had music done by the one and only Andrew Hulshult, who also happened to do some damn fine work on the DOOM Eternal soundtrack. Watch this guy's career.

that is one of the best part of the boomer shooter renaissance, banggers soundtracks, tons of them have really great musics and to me music is a rather huge part of a game enjoyment

how do you move like that, i only start wearing a jacket when the temperature is under -5°C, because i find having shirt+sweatshirt already cumbersome so the inconvenience of the extra layer outweighs the comfort benefit to me quite often.

how do you move like that,

because i find having shirt+sweatshirt already cumbersome

If I am doing physical labor outside I will "layer" clothing so that I can peel it off incrementally, but otherwise I wear a single shirt appropriate for indoors and whatever single jacket/coat that matches the requirement for the outdoor temperature.

Unless it is extremely cold and/or windy and/or rainy which requires a more complex layering.
"The Trump campaign announced in a letter that Republican candidates and committees are now expected to pay “a minimum of 5% of all fundraising solicitations to Trump National Committee JFC” for using his “name, image, and likeness in fundraising solicitations.”
“Any split that is higher than 5%,” the letter states, “will be seen favorably by the RNC and President Trump's campaign and is routinely reported to the highest levels of leadership within both organizations.”"

how do you move like that, i only start wearing a jacket when the temperature is under -5°C, because i find having shirt+sweatshirt already cumbersome so the inconvenience of the extra layer outweighs the comfort benefit to me quite often.

I did a long night last night. I saw a moonrise last night with my sister, stayed out a bit to see Alpha and Beta Centauri, and the Southern Cross, which I have never seen before, and then watched the sunrise. No green flash, sadly. Photos.

I was thinking about death threats today. They are taken so seriously, but I honestly can't think of a single example of a death threat actually being carried through. Can anyone think of any example of an online/social media death threat that actually happened or was attempted?
I'm not trying to make light of the subject, I am just literally trying to think of examples.

Noise, please don't think about this kinda things - play a game, have some square pizza :thumb:
I know I think about sad things too, but more I think over things, I come to the weird conclusions.
However, I always like when I come to conclusion, that I need to enjoy my life more, as there are too many sad things surrounding us and life is too sad just to go with its flow.

****.. I gotta play some game and have some pizza...
